I almost dread the 3 way QB race this summer...

After 4 years of RB,I hate to say it,but I have lost much confidence in CG and staff to choose the best QB,and now we get to go through the same thing again with a 3 way race between Nesbitt,Threet and Bennett...

If he doesn't tart Taylor, Drad's office will be bombed. TB is the starter and there is no competetion per se. A frosh isn't going to compete with the kid and everyone who follows football knows it.

Taylor will be 1st or 2nd team All-ACC next year and would have this year as well.

I have to agree with the original poster. I don't trust Gailey to evaluate and choose a QB. I hope DRad is on the field watching practices closely because he'll make Gailey play the right guy.

So after today, you worry about a 3 way QB race? And BOR, you want DRad choosing our QB? Wow. I don't know which of those statements baffle me the most. Bennett staked his claim to the job today, plain and simple.

You see, Jonny, that is the point. After suffering thru most of the last 49 games, many Tech fans don't believe our men's head football coach has the ability to choose the correct quarterback.

It's called ironic humor. Pretty funny, huh?

Let me explain something Johnny. If it was absolutely apparent to all of us that Reggie should be benched, yet the coach didn't do it when he had a kid on the bench who is easily better than Ball... why would I have faith in the coach choosing our next QB? Hell I'd feel more comfortable if you went down to the practice field and choose the next QB. So DRAd definately gives me more comfort than Gailey in making the best decision.

I'd be extremely surprised if it's anybody but Taylor. In 2003, Bilbo was coming off a multiple interception performance in the bowl game. Meanwhile, Taylor had a great bowl, especially considering how he only got all the first team snaps for two weeks before.

I'd also hate to see DRad looking like some Jerry Jones and choosing our quarterback. Exactly how much football coaching experience has he had? Don't get me wrong, I love DRad, but he should just hold Chan to his W-L record and not try to micromanage the team.

TB's gotta be the favorite based on his performance today, but hopefully CCG learned enough from the whole Reggie fiasco that he'll give Nesbitt and/or Threet enough reps in the spring and fall (including actual meaningful game time!) so that they can step in if TB has problems.

We need to take a clue from the Gators - I think they're confident with either Leak or Tebow at QB. Sure would be nice for us to have that flexibility next year.

If Reggie hadn't self-destructed academically, he would probaby still have started this game and our offense would have completely stalled. Given Gailey's past history, BOR has a very valid point.

I'm really looking forward to next season with Bennett. He carried himself very well, both professionally and athletically today.

They're confident if Tebow is running it a few times but they seem to have no confidence in him to throw and my guess is he will ride the pine a lot next year. Tebow is no TB.

A good day against one of the WORST pass defenses in the country and you guys are annointing a qb. Get real, Taylor's not as good as he looked today. There were two long throws to Calvin that he underthrew that against UGA are picks.

Don't get me wrong, he showed promise, but he isn't neccessarily the second coming of Godsey.

You are so wrong here. The day that our AD chooses our QB will be the day that we will close our FB program down.

Even Godsey didn't look like the second coming of Godsey. As good as Godsey turned out to be, there was not one fan at that time who thought he'd amount to anything. In fact going into the 2000 season I think most people thought we were screwed at QB. Even when Godsey became really good, he still had one of the ugliest throwing motions I've ever seen. It looked like he was throwing a shot put. But he got it done.

Taylor's throws look infinitely better than Godsey's did. Now that said, it will take a lot for Taylor to understand the playbook as well as Godsey did and play as smart as Godsey did. At least the kid has an arm, which lets face it, Godsey didn't.

You guys are missing my point. I don't want DRad choosing any QB either. But based on the last 5 years, he is certainly more qualified than Chan Gailey. Hire a REAL QB coach and let it be his decision if we are going to stick it out with Gailey, because Gailey cannot make that call. He lost that ability indefinitely yesterday.

Mora is now available. Of course he's squandered his share of talent in Atlanta as well. He and Gailey shoud have weekly lunches together.

I am excited about the race and I think it is more like 5 ways. I think Booker and Garner should be in the mix. The best thing we could do for our incoming freshman QB's is redshirt them. Then one year behind the starter and playing their redshirt sophomore year. My fear is that these two guys committed because they were told one of them would start next year ala Reggie and Pat Carter four years ago.

Gailey did not want everyone to see the mistake he made by sticking with Ball. I think he knew TB would make him look like an idiot so to save his rep he stuck with Ball even if it cost us a BCS bowl and a win over UGA. Chan stinks.

I agree with you mover DRad will not tell or make CCG play anybody, He could insit on some coaching changes but he'll not tell the head coach who to play.

There's been some amazing posts in this thread, but this one takes the cake.

Yeah, right.
