I almost dread the 3 way QB race this summer...

No one is talking about Byron Ingram. The entire staff is high on him and he will get equal looks in the spring with Taylor and Threet.

Ugh. So here's Chan's new QB appointee for life.

One change I think is a must next year is the way Gailey treats the backup. It is a competition. If Carroll can say John David Booty is in competition for his job at USC surely Chan can say there is competition at Tech. I want to see at least our 2nd and 3rd guy ready to go and praised by Gailey instead of destroyed with comments like weak arm strength, not 60% of our starter, cannot learn the plays etc. There should be no fear of putting in the backup in the starter is not performing at any position. This is a place where DRad can step in and say something vs determining who the QB is.

I really would like to see our two incoming freshman QB's redshirted. This is how you make succesful QB's. Redshirt one year. Watch one year and play the next. One of my fears is that these two guys were recruited and promised the spot ala Reggie and Pat Carter 4 years ago.

Geetee, you're great at posting what you think but you never respond to anything. WVUs passing yards per game ranked them 100. But their passing efficiency defense was 49th - not great but certainly as good as many teams we've faced, and their ppg was 20.8. We clearly were more efficient and scored more than they normally give up. Also given the difference between their efficiency rating and ypg, as well as their offensive prowess (5th) and defense against the run (8th) would suggest teams throw a lot against them since they're 1) behind and 2) can't run. Sort of like against us? I would suggest that we still threw for 100 yards more than they normally give up, scored 14 more than they normally give up and also ran for about double what they normally allow. Pretty good offensive preformance all the way around.

But I guess that's too complicated a thought process for you to follow?

You did not hear Gailey "destroy" any of our QBs. All of the comments you listed were repeated on the internet by fonts who had attended classes. They were not stated in public by any coach.

But FWIW I absolutely agree with your statement: "There should be no fear of putting in the backup in the starter is not performing at any position." However, the reality is that the starter is usually the starter because he is indeed the better choice.

Actually NCj, I don't think it's too complicated for him, he just can't pass up an opportunity to demean and belittle the team's accomplishments.

You did not hear him refute any of the comments either. Coaches have a wide variety of ways of getting information to the public including bulletin boards such as these. I will have to do some research but my memory tells me the arm strength issue and the inability to learn plays were both mentioned in the AJC.

Gailey doesn't day much of anything in the press, whether to refute comments or support them. To suggest he agrees with something because he doesn't make a point of denying it would be to ignore his past record. The only thing you can really say about Gailey is that we don't know what he's thinking.

and the team accomplished what this year? A coastal title? yep, that's great. But, when you look objectively at where the league is this year...did we really improve? fair question when you realize just how down the ACC is this year. However, if you take pride in yet, another, five loss season, another loss to UGA, another no show in the top 25, and another bowl loss... keep your yellow colored glasses on and think that those whose speak out for better results are just here to "belittle the team's accomplishments"

There are plenty here who speak out for better results. BOR, knoxjacket, ncjacket and myself to name a few.

YOU, on the other hand, are ONLY concerned with belittling the team's accomplishments and pointing out mistakes.

And I ask yet once again: what do you hope to accomplish here with your 100% non-objective, deragatory, degrading and demeaning posts about GT's football team, since Chan Gailey WILL BE the head coach for the next two years at a minimum?

Geetee, Here's a fair question for you.

Map out a scenerio that you would like to see happen at GT. Give us your insight. All you have done is bash CCG and the program. Give us something we can debate and talk about constructively.

I don't really see anyone else in here that is happy with the way the season went at the end. I for one expect more. Realistically we did some good things this year and we did some bad things as well. But I want just once for you too map out what we need to do.

I for one will listen and answer objectively.

For once it would also be nice that we could stop the name calling. The seasons over, let's move on. Geetee I look forward to your insightful thoughts.

(oh yes, we accomplished some close losses...whew, thank goodness for moral victories and we accomplished getting a Biletnikoff winner)

Just go back and look at any of your posts. Nothing but negativity.

And for at least the SIXTH time: What do you hope to accomplish with your constant berating of the GT football program, knowing that Gailey is the coach for at least two more years? You don't discuss issues like BOR, Knox and others do - you just demean and belittle. What possible good can come of your ravings?

ps - look forward to your response to ref'mover's post....

..and for the third time, let me know the accomplishments beyond what I posted.

Interesting note on Ingram...the other school that offered him right away after signing day was none other than Ralph Friedgen at Maryland.

Byron Ingram's dad was an NFL QB...so he has the pedigree as well. Downside was he played on a crappy underfunded high school team so no one knew about him.

_______________

9 wins
Division title
Best conference W/L record
New Year's day bowl
Significant offensive improvement
2 All-Americans
7 All ACC players
ACC Player of the year
Biletnikoff Award (despite having a poor QB)
#1 running back in the ACC #15 NCAA
#5 Scoring in ACC (up from what, #9?)
#2 team rushing in ACC
#1 ACC net punting, #6 NCAA
#1 ACC Passing efficiency Defense
#2 ACC scoring and total defense
#1 ACC turnover margin

yadda yadda yadda it means nothing because the ACC is baaaad.

Sure, the last 3 games were hugely disappointing, but they don't negate the rest of the season despite your protestations.

How about answering the question I have posed to you, what, 7, 8 times now?

wow... and yet, we still lose five games, another Bowl, another UGA game, and another no show in the top 25. You must be so proud of those stats.

Not nearly as much as you enjoy repeating ad nausum the losses and UGA.

How 'bout answering the damn question?

geeteelee, he won't answer the question so don't worry about it. Really does remind me do beebad though. Exact same MO. Post all kinds of random stuff thinking it proves a point, never answer a direct question, absolutely never acknowledge when someone calls him on a mistake/dumb point.

Geetee is repetitive, and he obviously knows it. However,...while his water torture message is nauseating, it does serve a purpose. By my quick calculation, it has been 1,867 days since any Tech fan can say we beat georgia in our last game with them, and it will be close to 2200 total days before we have another shot at it.

Just imagine all the young and budding Tech fans that have never experienced a victory over georgia.
