Call it a gut feeling from watching as much football as I have over the course of my life. The logic would go something like this. Players develop a lot physically, mentally, emotionally, technically, and cohesively (as an O line unit, LB corps, etc) over the course of their 4 years in college. Our most talented players are freshman, and there are more coming in like them. Imagine a team full of guys like Sims, Gibbs, Ivey, etc...but with the strength and experience of 22 year olds...and still playing just as hard. That’s a heck of a team. This year’s team was depleted by injuries/COVID protocol and still pushed Pitt for 4 quarters. What will that future team do to them?
