I know I’m old fashioned…

We didn’t have any playmakers on defense. And the rest didn’t tackle worth a darn.
But regarding officiating, the Sec and Big Trn own college football now. They are not going to give up what they have easily. We shouldn’t accept any games with sec or big ten refs.

I would respect the hell out of Key bringing up that the SEC and B1G appear to be protecting their own and each others against other conferences through bad officiating. He needs to take the fine and go off on the officiating in the last two games and call it what it is.

I agree. There were some truly atrocious calls but ultimately they only gave Vandy 7 points.

This just isn't true. The push off in the end zone is the only call that directly led to points on the same play.

The missed kick catch interference, forcing us to start at the goal line killed a drive before it started, and flipped field position all contributed to points for the bad guys.

The horrendous DPI that even the announcers complained about kept a drive alive for them. Multiple missed holds right in front of the vandy QB kept more drives alive.

The swing in points was probably more like 17. And that's without accounting for momentum and having to play from behind, which likely caused the players to press.

And it'd be one thing if the calls were questionable, but they weren't. They were completely obviously wrong to even the most lay of laymen. The game was stolen. There's just no other way to look at it.

Hell, it even looked to me like they didn’t get the snap off in time on a big gain on a play with another whiffed call on one of their scoring drives.

WeThe pick and the fumble stemmed directly from trying to do too much to make up for the officiating screw job.

So if we were not down then Rutherford would have slid rather than take contact? Or he would have chosen to protect the ball with two hands if only there weren't bad calls earlier?

Give me a break. Like I said, there were some really bad calls, but saying that our players' clear mistakes were the fault of the officials is dumb.

You're correct. I can't understand all the GT fans making excuses for the officials. We got royally screwed, yes we made our own mistakes (INT & fumble), but the pivotal game changing sequence of events was approx 100 yds of penalties or f-ups between the botched punt call, missed review of ball hitting defender's foot, botched PI then ensuing unsportsmanlike call and another defensive holding call. If you want to add the missed V holding and facemask call, that's another 25 yds of penalites all within 3-4 mins of one another. I've seen a missed holding, etc result in a 90+ yd TD, but I have NEVER seen or even heard of an entire series of 8-9 calls totalling 100+ yds of botched calls go entirely one way before in 60+ years of watching football. It was so far off any other sequence of mistakes normally seen as to defy any logical explanation.

I am inclined to question extraordinary low probability occurrences like an employee's house getting hit by a meteor 2 days in a row, but maybe that's just the skeptic in me. If it seems to unlikely to occur by itself, you have to wonder how it ever occurred unless someone really wanted or needed it to happen and made it so.

The calls were awful, but it happens. I’m so sick of us always playing the victim card. We were down 22 until garbage time. The ACC is 0-5. Stop moving the goal posts. We played our hearts out against the Dwags, but we also did enough self-sabotage to keep us from being great in the worst P4 conference. We aren’t a tough team yet, but I love the coaching staff. Just tip your hat to our SEC counterpart and move on. We sound like pussies.

GFY. We were down 22 because every time we turned around the refs fucked us. We could have played better, but we wouldn’t have had to if we weren’t repeatedly screwed by the officials.

Waaaah. It’s the officials. They are conspiring to keep us down. The SEC and B1G scared we are going to ruin their super conference. No one gives AF about us. No one is conspiring against us. We aren’t that important. Want to move the needle? Beat Vandy. Don’t lose 6 games. Stop being a victim every time a game slips away. So tired of our pussy victim complex.

It’s not playing the victim when nearly every nonpartisan observer thinks Tech got screwed by the refs. Look around the internet. Even espn says the calls were questionable.

Also that was probably the worst officiated half of football I've ever seen.

Everyone bitched about the U[sic]GA game, but this was what a truly bad reffing job looks like.

The last 5 minutes of the uga game was the worst. Making shit up to protect their princess and postseason bonus pool.

We were down 22 until garbage time. Every loser team blames the refs. 8/79 v 10/100. Yes, bad calls, but they were calling shit all game. We bitched about the officials after ND, VT, UGA and Vandy. Repratedly losing games isn’t because of the zebras.

So we’re pussies for questioning the calls that the TV guys were questioning and their replay analyst said was a wrong call, but you’re not a pussy for trying to get an invite to your wife’s boyfriend’s sugar bowl tailgate? And since when are the final 9 minutes of the 4Q garbage time? That’s like 15% of the game.

Who was complaining about officials after ND? I didn’t watch the VT game so no clue whah happened other than Pyron.
