I wish we still had Tenuta

Why are we arguing about this, it's the what ifs and its irrelevant because Tenuta is gone now and we have Wommack. We will wait and see what Miami does thursday against a defense that hopefully isn't gassed the whole game.

That was more a function of Gailey's offense being crappy than Tenuta's defense being bad.
Oh, but isn't that an excuse?

Tenuta's Ds gave up 24, 39, 24, 9, 31 and 3 in his 6 tries against Clemson.

It's my opinion, but I have evidence to support it. You can prefer Wommack, that's fine, but I just hope it's for real reasons and not from this "CPJ can do no wrong" thought process.

The secondaries at Tech have usually been bad to mediocre here even before Tenuta. That is why Tenuta's scheme was so crucial to our success. We are never going to get the 4.3 40 shut down corner like UF is. Even this year (comprised of all of Tenuta's recruits) which is supposedly Tech's best secondary ever is only 3rd best in the ACC.
You have no evidence to prove anything, just more and more opinions piled on one another. Besides, TENUTA DIDN'T RECRUIT.

Tenuta didn't recruit while he was here, he was only really ever credited with getting one guy. Matt Braman i think, or Shane Bowen not sure. You also talk about the bad secondarys he had but you dion't mention that he was secondary coach while he was here.

The secondary recruits of the past two years have been very good.

Wow Kyle, don't you look like a jackass now. You're too young to realize that Tenuta can't hold Wommack's jockstrap. I'll take Wommack's 1999 and 2000 Southern Miss Defense against ANYTHING Tenuta has ever coached.

The annoying thing about all this is that it is 100% transparently obvious that Kyle does not even believe any of this **** he has said on this thread. He just gets his rocks off posting **** like this. And amazingly, it works because this turned into a big long thread. God almighty.

The amount of revisionist history being shouted in this thread is pretty shocking. Tenuta was the only reason we had consistent above .500 seasons, and Chan didn't even want him. That was a Braine hire; probably the only smart thing he's ever done.

Who is responsible for all these Kyle "tags"?

blitz! blitz! blitz!, kyle died in a fire, kyle digs holes, kyle does metal statues, kyle is a baiting troll, kyle is a fheg, kyle is a giant douche, kyle is a teabag man, kyle is fat and has acne, kyle is not rational, rock!!!!!!, tenuta blitz!!, tought to defend kyle, yet another gtkyle fail

:laugher:

But back to the subject. If I were a gambler, I would have taken the over in the ND/Mich game yesterday.

We all know Tenuta cannot defend any sort of spread offense. He's an idiot.

Don't understand your post. No one here has said Tenuta wasn't a good DC. What people ARE saying is that he isn't a god and that Wommack's defense has been pretty consistent with what Tenuta produced statistically. Guess what that means? They're both pretty good DCs with solid track records.

It appears that both Wommack and Tenuta are pretty good D coords. I will agree 100% that Tenuta's style made you VERY vulnerable at the end of the game and what Mich did is an example of the "all or nothing" mentality of Tenuta.

For the record, Rich Rodriguez smoked Tenuta yesterday, with a true freshman QB and a bunch of players who hate him.
