The videos before the game were good - it would have been great if it had PJ going off on the team pregame "It can't start in here at halftime with me fussing and yelling! It's got to start right here!" and then ending with his "We gotta celebrate this one!" in the locker room after 08 COFH.

2011 Clemson. I brought my future wife and we saw us trash then-#4 Clemson at home, field rushed. Special time.

2014 u[sic]ga game for me. I got to Tech in 2010 and was in the Band through the 2014 season. That game was the first COFH game I was a fan for that we won.

Wake game in 09 was lots of fun. OT victory at night. Stadium was rocking.
I was smoking ribs at our tailgate. Had a drunken, screw up moment and let the pan slip out of my hands as we were breaking down and all the water put the coals out, giving me a nasty, nasty steam burn. I needed to go to the hospital. Wouldn't do it. Wasn't gonna miss that game. Covered my hands in aloe, and helped medicate my situation with a little chardonnay (read: bourbon). That OT win with the Nesbitt roar was worth the pain.

When I got to the hospital, the doctor asked me when this burn (which was bubbling at this point) actually happened. I told him about 6 or 7 hours ago. He asked what took so long. I told him wtte: "Well, it was overtime...." That's also a great memory for me.

One of my favorite PJ lines - that could be told in public - and I will tell it again.
One night over a cold beverage in North Carolina about 25 years ago, buddy of mine asks PJ this question:
"Coach, why didn't you go to App?"
PJ: "My SAT was too high."

No one had a sharper, quicker wit than PJ. If you could take his barbs, he liked you.
