Is Sims gone?

Just remembered that I bought my nephews custom jerseys for both Sims and Gibbs for Xmas last year. Oops :dunno:

I don't think we have enough evidence on Weinke. Jeff looked improved over last season against Pitt. Pyron played well, especially for a true freshman. I doubt every assistant hire that Collins made was bad. They were just bad enough on the whole that it made every coach look bad. A bad OC could negate a good QB coach, for example.

But I agree with your main point that it's possible he could transfer somewhere and have more success.
I wasn't a fan of the Weinke hire from the start, he had the poor judgement to go work for Pruitt at UT. (reflected in his continued poor judgement to take a job with the clown here at Tech). On top of that I didn't think he did a good job with Guarantano who was a 5-year QB for the Vols. Actually I think he was originally hired to coach RB's but then got "promoted" to QB coach.

Poor judgement? Did he really have a choice? Wasn't he working at some high school?

And you want to blame the guy who ran roughshod over Touchdown Jesus' bitchass, for anything that came from Moneyclown Collins' bitchass? I do not acknowledge his role in this.
I don’t blame anything on Choice. I was responding to the fact that I think Collins made one good assistant coaching hire when he hired Choice. The rest were awful.

Choice was obviously the smartest of the group as well considering he left.

I mean, we all have a choice. And really as an assistant you do need to be careful who you choose to work for because it can give you a reputation. Working for Pruitt and Collins is going to make it hard on him to get another P5 job whereas if he had waited, he might have gotten a better P5 opportunity.

Yo

You sleep with dogs you get fleas.

College football coaches fail upward. As long as you know somebody you're good. A former NFL QB and Heisman trophy winner under Bobby Bowden knows people.

One reason I won’t be giving money to an NIL collective. The decision makers are sus. If we were paying 7 figures for a player, then definitely should have targeted an upgrade from a guy who had 6 wins over 2 season.
yes let’s not donate to NIL so we can get even öööötier players. I blame Geoff Collins for that decision. If Sims threatened to leave that was something he did with the head coach of the football team at the time.

Maybe. Honestly I would have to spend a lot of time to research and see what has happened to some of the position coaches who have failed at teams that are perennially outside the top 25 and see where they are now.

Need to flip the first two words of the thread title and remove the question mark .
