Well, that was a waste of money.
Not our money tho!

Somebody that needs a QB will most definitely take him for his measurables, athleticism, and P5 experience alone. Most schools/coaches out there probably think they can develop him better than we have done here, and I can't argue against that.It will be interesting to see where he transfers to. Recent history with the portal suggests he will not end up at another P5 program unless he's willing to be a backup. I'd be shocked if a factory is knocking at his door at this point in his career.
Maybe, but I believe he has just 2 years of eligibility left and will need to learn a new system. He has a reputation for being injury prone, and now refusing to play when he's medically cleared. Most P5 programs would be looking for either a younger prospect to develop or someone who has shown proven ability at a lower level. Sims hasn't progressed in his throws or decision making despite 3 years as a starter. If he hopes to have a pro career, he needs to be a starter in the fall and put up some impressive numbers, so I don't think that will happen unless he accepts a lower level program to give him that opportunity.Somebody that needs a QB will most definitely take him for his measurables, athleticism, and P5 experience alone. He also can redshirt a year then play 2.Maybe, but I believe he has just 2 years of eligibility left and will need to learn a new system. He signed a big NIL with Mercedes and another last year with Certified Finishes but I also heard he got a rather large one (7 figures or pretty near it), possibly from a collective to stay at GT after last season and not transfer to LSU.
[tinfoil] Maybe Clown paid him to stay as part of his pitch to TStan for one more year. Doesn't seem like it'd be too hard to launder money through a "collective." [/tinfoil]If somebody paid Sims $1,000,000 to stay at Tech, then we’ve got bigger fools in our fanbase than I realized. That’s maybe the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard.

Projected annual value is down by $6 lol.No that's his "market value for NIL" per some web site that tries to give you an idea of what a player could get on the "open market" if they transferred. I don't believe that is based on current NIL deals for any players.
If this is what you're talking about:
They give an explanation of their "proprietary algorithm" here:

We have donors who donate to the GT NIL fund. Not our money tho!
Untrue. It would occasionally move from one parking place to another.Or a car that, when it hit a pothole, would self-drive itself into the nearest parking lot and turn itself off and not start ever again.
Hendon Hooker at UT could be a telling story here. No idea why Hooker was so bad at VT yet is now is a heisman candidate at UT, but clearly coaches matter and everyone can now see our GT coaching was terrible. He is very athletic and in the same mold. Honestly I would think UT could be a spot but they have Milton for one more year, plus 5 star Nico coming in too so probably not there. Possibly MS State?Maybe, but I believe he has just 2 years of eligibility left and will need to learn a new system. Coaches matter a lot. With that said, there has to be some raw talent / skill set. But, even the most talented need to be coached up and taught. GT has done very poorly with QBs, lately. Whether that changes with a new head coach, will remain to be seen. It also helps that we bring in the right skill set QB, to match the offense we want to run.Hendon Hooker at UT could be a telling story here. Maybe he requested extra tickets to the Georgia game.Sims could clear the entire mystery up if he wanted to.
I don't think we have enough evidence on Weinke. Jeff looked improved over last season against Pitt. Pyron played well, especially for a true freshman. I doubt every assistant hire that Collins made was bad. They were just bad enough on the whole that it made every coach look bad. A bad OC could negate a good QB coach, for example.Hendon Hooker at UT could be a telling story here. One reason I won’t be giving money to an NIL collective. The decision makers are sus. If we were paying 7 figures for a player, then definitely should have targeted an upgrade from a guy who had 6 wins over 2 season. He signed a big NIL with Mercedes and another last year with Certified Finishes but I also heard he got a rather large one (7 figures or pretty near it), possibly from a collective to stay at GT after last season and not transfer to LSU.
