This needs to stop, I know people have their opinions and even if all this is true it’s not official yet, he’s a kid, half you guys are adults sitting in your moms basement, sims has given it his all and this fan base needs a reality check, I know it’s been tough, the orange bowl was almost 9 years ago (good times!!) but these players are humans and we need to stop speculating about things that we don’t know are true. You can give me the big cry all you want but we, as a fan base, have got to man up.

I have no idea of knowing whether or not Sims is healthy enough to play. What I do know is that Georgia Tech has handled this poorly. He practices. He dresses out. They say he is cleared to play, at least in an emergency. He has no limp on the sideline. We see him run. He takes post game pics. He does not help signal in plays. He is not willing to play when Pyron goes down.

This all makes Sims look bad. It also makes us look bad, especially with tweets like this from his Mom. If he is truly able to play and is unwilling, then shut him down. No need to be on the sideline dressed out. He can decide his future with us when the new coach is hired. If he is cleared to play but is not at full speed, forget the emergency talk. Shut him down for the year. We have other QB’s. If he should not be playing because of injury, shut him down. There is no emergency in this strange and difficult season to justify playing a hurt player.

I think the coaches believe Sims could be giving us more than he is willing to give. But, being public about that is a huge mistake. That is a lose/lose approach. Handle such matters internally and decisively.
 
If he’s hurt then he’s hurt, and it’s just a bummer of a situation. If he’s healthy enough to play and decided not to then he should not be on scholarship. I don’t know which is true, but it appears those are the two possibilities. He’s seemed like a decent kid so far though.

A kid? A kid that signed an NIL that took me years of hard work to get to. He can grow up and learn to take some heat and be a team player in the ultimate team sport.

Key has made a mess of this as well. If Geoff Sim don’t want play then tell the world he is out for the year with an injury. The whole dress, practicing, 1 on the depth chart, emergency qb that we’ll ask mid game if he wants to go in is ööööing ridiculous. Very poorly managed.
