Is this what we've become?

What have we become,
My sweetest friend
Everyone I know goes away
In the end

And you could have it all
My empire of juice
Gef will let you down
Gef will make you hurt
I watch old fashioned hate
To see if I still feel
The red begins to roll
But I still have my zeal

In the US, the folks who consider GT football relevant are starting to resemble me, i.e. old.....its been awhile since our Orange Bowl run. Miss the Gailey days by comparison. We were putting players in the NFL at least.
This is so true and a demographic hurdle that is hard to overcome. It reminds me of the Harley Davidson dependency on baby boomers. HD has not and will likely never regain the numbers made possible by boomers. Specifically aging US boomers. For reasons too many to note HD has never appealed to a diverse customer base. Niche interest at best. Is boomers grew up loving HD cruisers. No one had to teach us. Then we got older and 800 pound two wheelers just don’t work anymore. Still great to look at and remember but we are not paying to ride anymore. I fear this is the real GT fan base problem. Replacing a shrinking generation. Then add all the institutional advantages of the factories. No easy answers. But if my old knees hold up and God willing I will be back and loving game time at BDS.

Merry Christmas and may your Blessings be many.

Gef will make you hurt
He wears those short hemmed pants
His heel just off the ground
He claims it’s for the croots
But the stars fall with no sound

The buyout is immense
How can we find the cash?
A gust of wind brings bills
Money downs of the past
