Obligitory "Ackshuallllllllly" but we had a losing record against Duke until the mid 1960s - I'm not talking about 1-2 - we played them often - maybe 30+ times by 1960. Hard to grasp, I realize but Duke used to be a badass. Not so for Wake, tho.

That would have been true about Clemson too for decades. Things change, and it's not always for the best from our point of view.

It's about as much of a must win as can be, for the players most importantly, and for the fans as a distant second.

The games against Miami, Clemson, and uga are also critical in the eyes of recruits---not that we win, but that we belong on the field with em. Routs are poison for recruits.
