It's time to fire the coach

If losing a game you should have won at the worst time is Clemsoning, is perennially wasting talent and not living up to preseason expectation Dawging? Richting?

Listening to 680 the fan right now was hilarious listening to the mutt fans calling in, one guy even said "I don't thank mark Richt should git let go, that ain't the problem right now."

The radio guy: "look man you gotta let him go!"

A drunk Georgia fan told me at the bar last night that they want him gone because he can't win big games. They think that with the top 5 recruiting class that comes to uga every year he's way underperforming and it ain't like it's that hard to recruit at uga. He also said that Eason won't be the messiah that he's hyped up to be because he's seen this movie before where the media hypes them uga fans for some player or something and always ends up being next year is their year.

Pretty astute observation for a drunk, I'd say. And if they fire Richt, he's right about Eason, because he'll go to school someplace else.

And that is part of the problem. Not getting rid of a coach because you are longing for ONE player. The savoir cometh and his name is Eason! Stupidity. Was Memphis' QB highly sought after?

Please please fire Richt. This is like the Fulmer situation at Tennessee, except Richt is better than Fulmer. I want to see UGA drop into a dumpster fire.

I mentioned the Pruitt rumors in the "Last in the Coastal" thread but glancing at their board again, now there is a Bruce Feldman article claiming big boosters at Georgia have started calling for a change. Even Schultz and Bark Madley at the AJC are now doing the same. This might actually be happening.

It is definitely happening. Everyone's tone is essentially that it is an unfortunate necessity. He will be let go at season's end.

I think he'll "retire" and UGA will payout the rest of his contract because he's such a good role model.

I also don't expect him to take another coaching job. He has enough money, and seems to be over the grind of a coach's life.

Jacob Eason is now looking at Florida and is talking to Nussmeier. The last hope for Mark Richt is edging away.

Feldman was the same guy who had "sources" Paul wanted to be bought out of his contract after Vad transferred.

I believe there probably was a little fire in that smoke.

Ask our own JD...

I honesty still haven't decided if Richt being fired is a good thing. On one hand, Richt has maintained a program that has been consistently better than ours. On the other hand, he will never win a championship at UGA.

It's a good thing. There are many more coaches out there worse than Richt than there are better....regardless of what the doggies think.
