Jalen Hurts Possible Transfer

Have you watched him play? He couldn't throw downfield, even with a ridiculous amount of time behind that O-line. I don't think he would be an upgrade for us. If he couldn't score on UGA surrounded by 5* talent, what makes anyone think he could here?
I am responding to your asinine assessment.

Could he stay in grad school for 2 years? Regardless, it would take him that long to learn our offense more than likely.
Public relations degree. It’s doubtful Schiller would admit him. Tech has an MS in Public Policy.

Speaking of the MBA, why doesn’t Tech use the MS Management degree in cases like this?

Saban is transferring him to GT so he’s available when Saban becomes the next GT head coach.

no way. The only 2 people on earth who can coach at GT are Chan Gailey and CPJ. Once CPJ retires, we will be quitting football.

I feel good about our QB situation moving forward. Would've loved to have Jalen this year, though.

word is Saban contacted Coach Johnson this week on Jalen’s behalf. Thoughts on him as a Grad Transfer next season? He would have 2 years to play.
Is this real? Intriguing if true. I like where we are at QB, but you'd never turn down a great athlete like Hurts, who's got a lot of experience. Also, I think it reflects well on CPJ and our program if Saban is recommending it to his transfers. I'll take Alabama's whole second string if they are looking for a fresh start.

I really thought he was gonna be a good player for us. He played exactly one play against UGAg
He spent his entire college career as a fullback. Think it was tough to expect him to transition to Bback. It seemed like he was always looking for contact instead of looking for a hole. Plus he got hurt.

I figured his one play against UGAg was just to let him get in the game. It was the last play before half.

The way I understand the Hurts situation is that he may move on after graduation to play somewhere else - not transfer before graduating. Some Alabama fans, as I read it, still expect him to be named starter this season. I don't follow Alabama football enough to know for certain.

I do know the last play of last season was an Alabama play.

For the record, I’m in the James Graham camp and don’t want anything to prevent him from being the guy in 2019. But to suggest that Jalen Hurts would not be an upgrade to our current QB is laughable.

Hurts isn’t going to be the starter. Especially not after his comments about Saban and the staff.

You're entitled to your opinion. Mine is that he's not a very good QB. He's a game manager that has been successful behind a completely dominant OL handing the ball off to a rotating group of 4 NFL RBs. He isn't capable of taking the team on his shoulders and making throws to beat coverage. Hell, their top WR just got picked in the first round of the NFL draft, but only had 700 and 900 yards in 2 seasons with Hurts. He broke 1000 as a true freshman with a different QB, and he wasn't even the #1 option then.

Is he a better passer than Marshall? Yeah, probably. But I'm not sure he's a better runner, and he has zero experience in the TO, so no I do not think he would be much of an upgrade over what we've got.
