Jalen transferring

Not sure why y’all are getting flustered about that perspective. I personally think Carter is gonna end up being All-ACC by next year and we have some potential with developing slot guys out of our AB pool. Braun would be a stud in any offense. But realistically a potential QB transfer doesn’t know what our offense will look like or if he’ll be running for his life all year. That’s a tough sell. If CGC sells it ööööing awesome. I hope he does. If he doesn’t then we’ve got some Johnson who will almost certainly be starting. He was a dual threat guy out of HS rather than the option QB we’ve had a lot. Yates is a dual guy too.

You left out that he would have to take calculus.

Dude, what do you think is his #1 priority? (Or should be)

Clue 1: hes a grad transfer
Tip 1: grad transfers get one year of eligibility
Pointer 1: he lived through a big QB competition and got beat out by an underclassman
Hint 1: he really needs to play if he wants to get drafted.

Has all the Temple film been burned? I expect our O will look like that. Or he can ask. We will have a solid run game to help out and why would Hurts be obsessed with an immaculate O line? His athleticism is part of his skillset. A valuable part.

But really it comes down to we are one of VERY few teams where he would zero questions asked walk in as the unquestioned starter. Bulk of attention and snaps from practice #1. That should be his top consideration. He doesnt have time to compete for a job or wait for a job (/overcome loyalties) and he should know that. But thanks for making sure to keep the conversation on the GT message boards about how hes got "reasons" not to come here. Thats real great.

You assume the guy who got beat out playing behind Bama’s OL is an auto-starter over our current QB depth chart and in the same breath bigcry about me being negative about GT football. :lol2:

Again I hope he ends up here. He’s a great athlete with more experience playing QB than anybody we have. We offer a lot to a grad transfer as a school and program. Saying that a QB might be looking for a solid foundation on offense to transfer into is apparently worthy of rustling some jimmies these days?

Nothing is guaranteed, but yeah, I think the five star fifth year guy who played well in several championship games has a really, really good chance of playing over a guy with no (?) career snaps. Iirc he's 26-2 as a starter. And Tag has the same OLine, so wtf does that have to do with it?

Also, he doesn't have to worry about loyalty games since our staff is new he will be competing on a level playing field. Not too many places offer that.

The link has a story under the Jalen story about the #8 recruit in the country committing to Stanford. He’s an OL from Norcross.

He is a winner. It takes a special talent to even be recruited by Bama first and forecmost...then to win the starting job over several five star recruits...then to win as much as he did is just phenomenal. Will he have to adjust to lesser talent here? YES. That said, we would be in a much better position with him here than otherwise.

Also, if he has pro aspirations, then leading us to a solid season in a transition year may get him more looks than being a hand off specialist at a place like Bama or elsewhere.

Man Jalen would be a nice transition here but I’d bet he goes to somewhere like Miami, maybe OU

He might not win the job at Oklahoma and Diaz is a first year head coach.

I'm pretty sure Riley promised the incoming QB commit to OU that he wouldn't sign any other QB's this year. Don't know how that works in regards to signing transfers though. Do you tick off a highly touted recruit that you will have for 3-5 years for a grad transfer that you get for one?
