How dare TStan stand up for what he believes and not suck up to the big money to save his job.
Sucking up to big money is a large part of his job.......

Still quoting me tho.Aaaaand, still nobody cares about your opinion.
Depends on who we get to replace the guys we lost. The number of commits is part of the calculation, so just replacing the numbers would raise our ranking. I think we'll probably end up around 30th. Still good by historical standards.Looking at 247, we have gone from the 24th ranked class to the 35th in less than a week. Is that juice?

From your article...
College athletics are dead... "Non-profits" and other organizations are pooling money to pay players? How can Tech compete with this bullshit? I'm about to be done college sports altogether.
Nobody has ever donated big $$$ to Tech athletics. Ever. Has nothing to with our coach. What we have thought of as "big donors" would look paltry to a school like Texas, or just about any of the SEC schoolsWe’ll I mean we do have a bunch of Tech owned companies, but the guys there aren’t going to donate when we have an idiot as a head coach. It’s kinda like how it’s pretty hard for a high school kid who’s gotten into 4 wrecks in his 2 years of driving can’t get cheap insurance anywhere. It’s too risky, and the companies aren’t gonna waste their time on it.
So many threads turn into these arguments and I don't understand the point. Can't we all just agree that CPJ was a great x's and o's coach and CGC has recruited some highly rated talent and what we need for sustained success is a coach (or coaching staff) that can do both? Seems pointless to keep arguing the strengths and weaknesses of each one.Jesus, you’re obtuse.
Yes, Paul could win with less talent. But ALSO YES, Paul couldn’t recruit top level talent to his system. So it’s a 2-edged sword. You win while he’s here but you suck balls when he leaves because your talent will be poor.
And ratings right now are incomplete because part of your class ranking is based on number of signings. So wait until signing day to judge this class.
Oh, and that 34th ranking is still higher than any year under Paul, I believe.
You're making my exact point. I'm just pointing out to the "Paul could win 6 with these guys" crowd that "Paul wasn't able to get these guys".So many threads turn into these arguments and I don't understand the point. Talent is leaving of their own accordYes. But you're also missing the forest for the trees.
Johnson also COULD NOT recruit worth a damn and that's one of the reasons we're in the boat we're in right now. At least Collins is restocking the talent pool for whomever comes next down the path.
So if you want to call Collins a clown for not winning (fair, IMO) you also have to throw Johnson into that clown category for leaving the cupboard so frigging bare from a talent standpoint.
Bloomberg has donated over $1,000,000,000 to Johns Hopkins. The south has to catch up on their valuation relative to the rest of the country.Nobody has ever donated big $$$ to Tech athletics. Ever. LOL, at least he brought in talent for them to consider leaving. And there are still a lot of 4 stars on the team and in the recruiting class.Talent is leaving of their own accord
And yet, even if we lose Willis and the other wavering commit, this class will still be ranked higher than any CPJ pulled in so how about just STFU'ing for a bit, huh?
Sure you can. The recruiting metrics are simply a judgement of talent by pools of “experts” at a point in time…that is, during the senior year of high school. Obviously, all kids don’t mature at the same rate, all don’t have the same wherewithal to work, some don’t receive the same level of coaching, etc etc.Can we say the recruiting metrics are correct if it never materializes on the field? They tend to change a lot when you reevaluate 5 years later
For sure. The 4 and 5s are going to be the most accurate because they get the most looks. But the 3* range is massive and 2* includes anyone not scouted, so it's rather imprecise. So it's a very rough estimate, but yes the bamas of the world we can be very confident in their rankings and avg stars.Sure you can. But it’s still the law of large numbers in play here. I would wager that most of your college stars come from the 4 and 5 star pools and throw in some 3 stars as well. Sure, there will be the occasional JJ Watt, who was a low-ranked high school player who works his tail off in college and blossoms into a stud. But the factory teams that win year after year after year are doing so because of one reason….they’re fishing in the deep end of the recruiting talent pool.

They shouldn't make the decisions just because the have "big" money. Whether right or wrong, TStan believes CGC is the right guy and is willing to put his job on the line. I think that is admirable. and something you don't see often anymore.Sucking up to big money is a large part of his job.......

Maybe you know what tStan believes - I have no idea.Whether right or wrong, TStan believes CGC is the right guy and is willing to put his job on the line. I think that is admirable. and something you don't see often anymore.
