Nobody has ever donated big $$$ to Tech athletics. Ever. Has nothing to with our coach. What we have thought of as "big donors" would look paltry to a school like Texas, or just about any of the SEC schools
This.

It is a structural problem at Tech that is exacerbated by CGC and not winning, but it is not like we had killer attendance and funds when we were winning. I am of the mind that support begets winning (consistent winning, not lightning in a bottle) and not usually the other way around. We need a broader fan base and a broader donor base. Anything standing in the way of those needs to be demolished if we are going to win consistently. If we want a high brow (some may say snobbish) fan base and pull donations, attendance, etc. until we are winning, then we may as well accept mediocrity at best as the result.

I really don't think sidewalk fans are shunned or looked down upon (beyond those that berate them on message boards, which isn't a systemic issue). Tech (AA) has always marketed on a shoestring and has failed to make an ongoing major push out side the alumni walls. There's an impression (started by DRad) that broadcasts are the better revenue source and ticket sales doesn't significantly move the needle.

If that's the case, gt needs to be investing in producing the best tv experience. More cameras, better quality audio, etc than anyone else. Skycam at every game.

How does one go from committing to the same place twice (I'm gonna ignore the irony there a sec) and then de-commit a few days after you said you were excited to sign on 12/15 and threw around talk of early enrolling?

Holy moly, this recuriting game is stupid.
Somebody thought it was a good idea to put a bunch of high school kids in charge of the process----and pay them to boot.

Nine losses a year and no bowl games and losing 0-100 on back-to-back Saturdays isn't moving anybody's needle.

We should've joined the BIG10 if we wanted to maximize broadcast revenue

Sidewalk fans can and should be a group of 8,000-10,000 butts in seats on game day if we are good.
