Jeff Sims

Sims is going to be great, no doubt about it. I wanted him pulled after his should've-been-third-bad-pick (at least for a couple series) but we rode that horse win or lose and we won. Excited about the future and even this year.

What'd you think of Pdude's play calling today? Legit question not a zinger. I thought he stuck with read option a but too much when it wasn't working but loved the intermediate passing game.

Passing game was above average. Some of the designed runs were questionable, such as the last slow developing run play after Mason pounded FSU up the middle on 2 previous runs. Besides that I think it was impressive and will only get better with time. Good line play as well as QB play obviously makes a huge difference.

It's amazing how much "better" the play-calling is when you have a good QB and a decent OL.
I felt like there were still several bad play designs and play calls, but nobody's perfect, and cgc has also said he gives the offense 5 plays a week, they may have been his.

Only play call I didnt like was WR screen to Camp w/ Ahmarean as lead blocker; thats a loss of 5 everytime. Otherwise I thought he kept it simple for Sims and we took what they gave us

FTFY

I was really surprised by his pocket presence. That's pretty rare for any true frosh, but especially a dual-threat guy. He'll need to work on not giving up on receivers when the pocket collapses, but I love that he isn't overeager to tuck it and run.
Yeah, he showed some real nice instincts. Something else.

23/34 for 277; almost our first 300 yard passing game since 2007. Most since Justin Thomas had 282 against Wofford.

I see Sims having quite a few 300 yard games this year.
