Johnson reflects on the train wreck that was Collins

I agree that 1990-2000 was a better run than CPJ since it includes the National Championship. CPJ still had a good run though.
If you're going to say any 10 year period that includes a natty is best, sure. But in 1994 we won 1 game and did not go to a bowl for 5/10 years of the 90's. The 90's were not great. 1990 was great and 1998 and 1999 were pretty good.

I really dont care what his thoughts are. Not sure why he felt the need to be so self serving...

is why you got The Clown.

What does that mean? His crowning achievement is beating uga 4 times and winning an orange bowl. Oh he also has one vacated ACC title. Rest of the time Tech was very mediocre. Yes winning a national title trumps all of those things.
So who has sustained more success "over 10 years?" That was his point. Quit trying be offended.

I suspect Key's "no more small ball" talk probably rubbed him the wrong way, but I am sure he respects him more than he does Collins
That is not my recollection. My recollection is when Key got here, he said "I didn't come all this way to play small ball." I did not interpret that as a slight to CPJ in the least but rather he was addressing the idea that GT was a step down from Alabama and that he would settle for less at GT.

The fact that then-athletic director Todd Stansbury wanted him to stay another year after Johnson told him during the 2018 season that it would be his last – “He said, ‘Just give me one more year,’” Johnson said – is further confirmation that team culture was healthy on his watch, he said. "

So much for the myth that he was ran off the Flats by the Admin. Looks like he was asked to stay another year but chose to quit, as many of us have been saying all along.
