Juanyeh gone…

This isn’t to player bash and certainly not Juanyeh, but there is somewhat of a theme going on where players get pissy that a coach was fired and then players/family blame the fans for the bad season, lack of support, or whatever.

I’ve got news for them. The results on the field are the results of either bad players or bad coaching. Nothing the fans have done or not done explains 100-0 in the last two games, defenders being 15 yards off receivers, or the OL not knowing what it’s doing all season. This “f the fans who got my coach fired” type stuff really turns me off. If it’s not the coach’s fault, then maybe the players need to do some introspection and think about why things were so bad.
I don’t believe this fully.. if bds was 75% yellow jacket fans instead of vice versa I believe the score would not have ended up 45-0

You're right the score wouldn't have been 45 - 0

If it were 75% GT Fans , Kurby and his band of mutts might have taken us more seriously and kept their foot on the Gas Pedal and dropped 75 to 80 points on us.

With Yates and that OLine we never would've scored from scrimmage, maybe on a KR had Gibbs not been hurt.

Having 75% GT Fans in the Stadium wouldn't have helped.

Clearly you weren’t there

Stingtalk: "go to games!!"

Also stingtalk: "itll make the scores worse"

?????

Next time I'll just say "player who gave their effort to one degree or another for Tech which is obviously entirely subjective and hardly worth dissecting at this point but I don't want anyone thinking I might be giving a guy the benefit of the doubt just because he played for Tech or risk any pointless tangential arguments over the fairness of my phrasing."

Rolls right off the tongue with nearly the same ease as your mom.
Better.

Yep. Looking back I think Woody was probably a good DC who was hamstrung by our overall talent level (not including Juanyeh). Curious how he's been doing since...

I remember really liking that years defense, so the fei numbers don't match my memory. In fact, they're so disparate that it makes me wonder if the rest of the acc wasn't as strong and we screwed up by not keeping roof.

Roof's big issue was 3rd down & prevent defense.

IIRC we liked that defense more because we were finally showing some of the aggressive blitzing that we’d been wanting for years. We just didn’t have the front 7 for it, and it resulted in a lot of big plays.

On the same token, Roof’s numbers were also misleading. We didn’t give up a ton of big plays, but when the opponent needed to convert, they almost always did.

All of you that öööö on our student athletes can go öööö yourselves. These men gave us everything. More than most of us could ever attempt. Juanyeh gave us some some moments we should appreciate. As did Gibbs and JP. Even the underclassmen balled out. So did CPJ’s classes that even get crapped on by the current staff. They are Tech men and we should be thanking them for their efforts no matter the outcome. They aren’t the ones failing Georgia Tech.

Thank You. This isn't the NFL these are kids. I'm all for boo'ing the coaches (but ours is such a puscatore he won't engage with the fans) but OUR FANS are so sparse what may be directed toward the staff is absorbed by the players.

Why would you subject yourself to this? Because if I was 18-22 I'd damn sure feel like a failure based on our fan reaction.

So we need figure out a better way to project frustration than 15,000 Gold Members booing 3 and outs because personally, I think the players are leaving in some part because of it.

If the above were true, then no one should have ever criticized our QBs, both Sims & Yates.

Why is brutal honesty OK when talking about QBs, but not Safeties?

I'm not sure if you're looking for a real answer or not, but it's because you get super personal.

Most on here would agree that players can be criticized, and actually, most do criticize the players. But there's a huge difference between criticizing the path a safety takes to the ball and casually calling our players idiots or saying that food should be withheld from them as a punishment, both of which you have done. Saying such punitive stuff like that about Tech student athletes is really going to sour people on you.

Similarly, when a player announces he is transferring, it's fine to say "Sad that it didn't work out but we'll survive" or "Wish he had lived up to his potential here, good luck to him" or even "Not a huge loss given how bad we are anyway". But it is not the time to immediately go into details about why you think he sucked, or call him lazy, or say things like "He played with poor discipline, he played as if he never studied Film a day in his life, he was constantly caught looking at the wrong Keys, making the wrong reads, etc."

It's just not something you do to someone who played for you, especially not an unpaid student athlete.

Obviously it's a free country and we are a board with very lax rules about what you can say, but if you're wondering why you get these types of reactions, that's why. (By the way, you often get personal in discussions with other posters too, which again is why you get bad reactions focused more on attacking you rather than the substance of your posts.)

I don’t give a öööö whose feelings are hurt but I want proof to back it up. They’re adults not little babies that need to be coddled.

Stop throwing around the “unpaid” bullshit too. Unless the entire student gen pop is getting a stipend then it’s just a flat out lie.

If you want to win then you better damn well hope that no coach or player ever has the same mindset as you.

I'm not sure what proof could ever justify saying that we should withhold food from GT players as punishment for playing poorly or calling them names.

There's a difference between criticizing players (which I said most do, including me) and purposely being a dick towards them in a public forum, which is what most people take issue with, and what PMC seems to do all too often.

As I already said I agree with your empty criticism take. I did not comment on PMC's draconian punishment ideas he's had in other posts but yes those are way off center.

Well if you're not commenting on PMC's name calling/punishment comments, and I explicitly said in my post that I'm fine with criticizing players' play and do so myself, then why should I "better damn well hope that no coach or player ever has the same mindset" as me if I ever want to win?

Simply because I said that it's unnecessary to go into detail about why a player sucks in response to his transfer announcement? I can't imagine criticizing an outgoing player's play in detail using the type of language PMC does is necessary to winning.

I agree with you completely here. His editorials as I'd like to call them need to go
