It’s too bad we didn’t develop him. Stuff like this costs us in recruiting.
So a player going to the NFL is a negative? Boy this place is ridiculous

Yea. These guys can play, and they are big and fast. Hell we saw that here in 2018 and 2019. Our defensive scheme/coaching/prep/gameday adjustments have just been that bad.
If he is ….late round pick PS at best. Don’t see that as much of a recruiting tool
We do this EVERY season. Juanyah is going to crush the combine and i suspect Riq will do the same at pro day.
Skill has never been their issue. It’s been all mental
You’d think of all people you’d be the one on here to recognize we had Juanyeh playing out of position. To make matters worse, we had severe need at LB. We used to coach players up at GT way above their talent level. It’s part of our heritage and culture- smart underdogs, undersized players performing at levels higher than their talented opponents. Now we got highly recruited elite players underperforming, wrong positions, poorly coached & we’re all supposed to cheer because we notch 3 wins and have a Top 50 recruiting class so we’re BIG TIME.So a player going to the NFL is a negative? Boy this place is ridiculous
Collins got an invite too..... We're hoping he goes higher than Calvin did. That'll boost the ööööe out of the 404Is he the only tech player getting a combine invite?
So you believe the coaches did everything possible to put him in the best position to succeed, and he just failed repeatedly because he struggled mentally? and Riq and Tre too?We do this EVERY season. Juanyah is going to crush the combine and i suspect Riq will do the same at pro day.

No. Cut blocking, 50% completion, ööööty defense, and getting body slammed is not our heritage. And when you inherit a team that can only barely function semi-properly with a specific formation you’re gonna get seven years. We used to coach players up at GT way above their talent level. Wow. You losers will find a negative in anything. If he gets drafted good for him and good for Tech football.
I’m not a blame the DC guy, but the on field performance of 1, 2, and 3 regressed greatly from 2018-2019 to 2020-2021 despite them getting bigger/faster stronger. At some point coaches have to put players in a position to succeed. The defense has been bad at Tech for over a decade. So is every scheme and DC bad? I just find it odd a scheme works 4 different schools yet implodes when at Tech
It's just mind boggling that there are legit NFL prospects on a defense that was one of the worst in FBS. Not doubting the talent of the players, or if they are worthy, but just the absolute confusion that the DB's had game after game with that much talent.
Mahomes was a stud offensive player on a team with an awful defense. Juanyeh and Tariq are ok players on an awful defense. Is it really? Guys like Patrick Mahomes was 12-13 as a full time starter
And some were roasted for stating as such during the season. It was plain to see. Yet there were those that got sent to TimeOut because they were making these points.I’m not a blame the DC guy, but the on field performance of 1, 2, and 3 regressed greatly from 2018-2019 to 2020-2021 despite them getting bigger/faster stronger. I would bet that the 2021 defense as a whole was bigger, stronger, faster, and had more experience that the majority of defenses from the last 10 years. The 2021 group will have more guys that see an NFL field than most of those teams, and yet was one of the worst performing defenses GT had ever had.
Would you say that comes down to coaching? In your opinion what were the main reasons the DB's looked so bad....was it talent( I don't believe it was), scheme? coaching? the fact the DL couldn't get pressure so the DB's had to work much harder? Is it really? Guys like Patrick Mahomes was 12-13 as a full time starter

1) Bad eyes and fundamentals. A lot of guys playing football and not understanding
2) Bad teaching
3) Lack of a pass rush
4) An offense that couldn’t stay
Agree. It was historically bad back there with players pointing at each other. I don’t believe it was that bad on my HS team and we had no coach.I don’t know if it was the teaching or the scheme, but I don’t think I have ever seen safeties and DB on different pages as much as I saw the past 2 years. I wrote off year 2 to a new scheme, but year 3 was worse.
Sure, every team has it happen, but our guys seemed to consistently be out of position relative to each other.
