KC Fires Chan Gailey

I haven't heard one word from Gailey putting GT down since his firing. We owe him the same thing. We tried it - it didn't work - we went our different ways. Leave it alone.

Maybe he can come back to Tech and coach the kickers. His teams always had good punters and place kickers.

the biggest gripe I have is that we extended his contract the year before we fired him

Dave Braine did more damage to Georgia Tech than good. As much crap as Gailey got, Brain was infinitely worse. On top of that he was arrogant and condescending.

Last 11 years against UGA

4-1 without Chan
0-6 with Chan

End of discussion He sucked. He took players that beat UGA and preceded to get beat by 50 points and Johnson took players that were in the 7th and 8th grade when the last time we beat UGA and proceeded to run all over them Chan took winners and made them losers and Johnson took losers and made them winner

Chan was a disaster

fixed. kinda.

don't usually fix grammatical errors but this one was SCREAMING at me.

i rarely caps....

Why would he put down somebody that is paying him millions of $?

Do you think he is that arrogant or stupid?

As to O philosophy, he has learned much over the years. He just can not accept the fact that others may have better ideas than he does. He won't ever evolve.

My gosh, Calvin Johnson got what, 4 yards receiving in the ACCCG?

Sorry he got fired at KC and wish him the very best in his future. Can't imagine why we would wish anything else for him.

I was thinking Washington State.

No, even they're too good... I'd say Washington Huskies (the only team Washington State beat). Or the Detroit Lions? I'm sure Calvin would be thrilled :laugher:

It seems a lot of coaches are that stupid. Gailey was one of the quietest firings in the last 10 years of college football. There was no bickering and blaming from either side in the media. At least give him credit and say he handled it in a classy manner.

Gailey was a holdover from the previous KC staff. Obviously when the new HC retained him it was because just last year he did some good things there in a bad situation and they thought they could mesh philosophically. It didn't work. It ain't the first time. Like others have said he'll get another NFL OC job, atleast a QB coach job. He'll help some pro team. I don't see any reason or good that comes from rehashing the bad from his era here. He wasn't the best coach surely, but he sure as hell wasn't the worst either. 2/3 of D1A would be very pleased with the level of success we had under him. That being said, the Institute wanted and rightly expected more. It appears we're on our way.

I'm pulling for him.
