Key’s contract details

So, you’d be happy if we paid Brent Key $15M per year? We’d be #1, right?

It’s a business deal - not a dick measuring contest.

"The contract does offer Key a chance to add to his income through a variety of incentives. They include $100,000 for an eight-win season and another $100,000 for a 10-win season. If the Jackets win six regular-season games and go to a bowl game (outside of the College Football Playoff), Key will earn $50,000 and an extra $50,000 if Tech wins the bowl game. Similarly, Key will receive $50,000 for leading Tech into the ACC title game and another $50,000 for winning it."

Those are peanuts to the new contract Key would get for a 10-win season.

Of course, let's get to a freaking bowl first.

Does this mean that Key would make 100k more winning the Boise Bowl than the national title?

I like the incentive bonuses. I don't know what the protocol is but I would assume that the assistants would be given a share of the incentive payments. I'm sure they were tempted to put in a bonus for beating the dwags but probably best not to (at least publicly - what's the most you can PayPal somebody?).

Seems good at first glance but I would like to know how they define the "end of the year". I expect CBK to perform well enough to rework the contract at the end of his second year, just hope we don't öööö it up then.
