Key’s contract details

The assistant money is only good if used well. Worried he'll just promote Weinke to OC and give him a raise.
IMHO, that would not necessarily be a bad thing, if what we've heard about the offensive scheme and play book for the UNC and ugag games is true.

Sounds like we should have given Key all the money. All. Of. It. Or maybe we should have given a "top tier" coach 7 lifetime contracts, all to be served concurrently, to hell with that Hewitt amature hour contract nonsense.

Or.....

Perhaps for a change Tech actually didn't give out a contract that screams "Take me now Daddy" from the bottom prison bunk.

So it’s confirmed we hired the “Tech man” because “cheap hire”. Bottom half of ACC in money and quality. And boosting staff pool pay 30%. Still bottom half. Cabrera got my ass. I didn’t think he was just blowing smoke. He was. Oh well. Tech again embracing mediocrity from the top down.

Things are a bit more exciting at Colorado. A bunch of folks here should avoid those headlines. Not conducive to the preferred echo chamber.

You’re a child.

Correct. Maybe the first intelligent comment I have read from you here. It's not P5 money. It's barely FBS money.

Cabrera lied about his commitment to Tech football.

You're right. Give him a contract like Paul Hewitt and Geoff Collins. Those have worked out before.

Gonna put my personal dislike and personal opinion of Key being a bad coach aside.

Let’s hypothetically assume he’s much better than I think and Tech is hiring him because they think he can succeed as a HC and his contract is budget friendly.

Assume the above is true and Tech is committed to winning at a high level starting now. If so they would have to increase staff pay more than 30% to get the best quality staff to help Key succeed and need to exponentially increase recruiting budget and personnel. None of that is happening. Silver lining…there is a reasonable expectation to think Tech can manage more than 3 win seasons annually and hover somewhere around .500 ball. Yippee.

And we can do that when we get out from all these various buyouts and financial albatrosses which coincides with your timeline. In addition revenue would be picking up right around that time as well. Be ööööing patient.

No. You just doubled down like a toddler throwing a temper tantrum when the adults explained why the decision was made and not everything in life comes from instant gratification.

So, again, you sound like a child with that post.
You don’t keep up real good do you? These are the facts. Tech is continuing to spend at the bottom half of the ACC. What do you think the most likely results will follow.
If you love Key, and love Tech, you should be demanding Tech give the program the resources it needs to compete for championships. That isn’t being attempted, doesn’t look to change significantly, and will be an anchor to Key and Tech’s ceilings.

That’s a fair take but inspires little confidence in the short or long term success of the program. Four more years of losing isn’t exactly going to open the floodgates of revenue. Not many endeavors rise to a high level when guided by meek philosophies and actions.
But I agree. Anyone desiring championships at Tech will need to be very very patient.

Colorado is only giving Deion $5 million for assistants, right? Less than the $7.5 million we are giving Key.

I have no idea honestly. I know he is bringing in Kelly from Bama and I don’t think bama was tossing Kelly out the door. Plus I do think Sanders can do more with less compared to Key. He’s already landed a 5 star recruit for instance.

If you want Sanders to be your coach so bad, just go be a Colorado fan. Bemoaning that we didn't hire the guy you're wet for is nothing but annoying noise. Seriously, just shut up or get out, pick one.
