Gonna put my personal dislike and personal opinion of Key being a bad coach aside.
Let’s hypothetically assume he’s much better than I think and Tech is hiring him because they think he can succeed as a HC and his contract is budget friendly.
Assume the above is true and Tech is committed to winning at a high level starting now. If so they would have to increase staff pay more than 30% to get the best quality staff to help Key succeed and need to exponentially increase recruiting budget and personnel. None of that is happening. Silver lining…there is a reasonable expectation to think Tech can manage more than 3 win seasons annually and hover somewhere around .500 ball. Yippee.
