Key’s contract details

I think by the start of 2025 Sanders will have more, will have Colorado football being talked about nationally, and will have Tech fans thinking about what could have been while looking to get trounced heading to Boulder.
Nothing wrong with this opinion IMO. The thing is, none of us have a crystal ball, and if you’re wrong, then it’s an unmitigated disaster for CU — a risk that should have been taken into account when the contract was negotiated. FAR worse than clown’s here, financially.

Should be an extra mil for winning the ACC
I don’t know that a million is right but whatever the right number is, I’m disappointed in these small incentives.

True. He might fail ultimately. Not many outside their program predict that. But many outside the Tech program thought Collins was a great hire and Key is a good hire.
Buffs were 1-11 and arguably the worst p5 program already. It can’t get much worse than that for them. Tech arguably had more to lose on that gamble. Also more to win imo as not starting from quite as low as the buffs were. Maybe they were just more willing because more desperate. Time will tell for sure.

I'm glad Key's salary is in the bottom half of the ACC. That is where it should be. I wish the buyout was less after 2 years. Incentives are a great addition. I see why Tech couldn't attract an experienced head coach, but it is what it is. No need bitching and moaning anymore.

As far as Deion, there is nothing wrong with being excited or interested in seeing what he can do in Colorado. I'm not going to lie, it is 1000x more entertaining than what is going on at Tech. That doesn't make me less of a Tech fan.

Some of you falling head over heals, hook, line and sinker for Key reminds me a lot of when Collins arrived. I haven't seen anything yet that makes me feel like Key is going to be a great coach. I do believe that he won't be a joke of a coach like the last one, so that is a victory.

No worries, Tech will tear up his old contact and give him the Hewitt 6 year auto renewing contract if he wins the ACC. Winning the ACC after 2023 will be automatic playoff inclusion.

That matters. But there is still the issue of doing more with less. And Sanders already is. And the buzz and free press aren’t hurting the buffs any either. All predictable. Coulda woulda shoulda.

lol Sanders was drawing top recruits to JSU and beating FCS teams. He's a rising coach, but doing more with less? Come on, man.

I think Deion would’ve been a great hire for us. I think Brent Key could be a great hire for us. I think the financials for Key’s deal are very good for us. I think the financials for Deion would’ve been very risky for us. We’ll see how it all pans out.

The 5 star is for 2025. Slot receiver from Florida. We will see how long he makes in the Colorado winter.
Remind me, but isn’t it 2022 right now? The chance of this player ever playing a game for Colorado is less than 5%. Commitments no longer exist. They are a joke so I laugh at all this.

My thought, too. A 2025 commit is a HS sophomore and is probably 15 or 16 years old unless he's flunked a time or two. He may not even have a driver's license yet. I wonder how that guy might enhance his image by saying he's committed to Deion Sanders at Colorado.

Also they give high school sophomores star rankings? I probably shouldn't be surprised, but I am.
