Yes, we are giving Key a 50% bigger assistant salary pool than Colorado is giving Deion. $7.5 million compared to $5 million.

yeah, kind of sad, but that's what labor demand does in a labor market.

I think it's mostly anchored by the real successful coaches like Saban who can get 10million, which means you can then pay even up and comers many millions with that anchor...

That matters. But there is still the issue of doing more with less. And Sanders already is. And the buzz and free press aren’t hurting the buffs any either. All predictable. Coulda woulda shoulda.

Why not? You've made your opinion plain every time you've hit "post" for the past week or two. You're not adding anything anymore, just bleating at us demanding we agree with you. I am the exact opposite. At this point I think I'm just as excited for Colorado's season as I am for Tech's.

There's no doubt that Deion is a spectacular hire -- literally, it's a spectacle. He's going to get top shelf players. He's going to get quality staff. And the eyes of the nation will be upon them immediately. Actually, the eyes of the nation are already upon them.

I really think they are going to be bad. I think that Deion has never had to run a program that is facing adversity on the field, and there will definitely be a lot of better teams than them in his first season through no fault of his own. And I don't think he will be able to deal with that.

That said, my confidence level in that prediction is low. Deion is really a complete unknown at this point in my opinion. I can't wait to see how he does.

I think by the start of 2025 Sanders will have more, will have Colorado football being talked about nationally, and will have Tech fans thinking about what could have been while looking to get trounced heading to Boulder.

Axxccxtually he hasn't done anything yet. Prime might end up being the love child of Vince Lombardi and Nick Saban but I think I'll reserve my judgment until I see some actual games. Imagine Collins with a roster full of five stars, generating more premature ejaculations than all of history combined, but then the games start... (I suppose this could somewhat be said for aTm). Between being an admittedly jaded Tech and Falcons fan for an eon or two, I've learned that the results are the only thing that matter and generally, unsatisfying as it is, you just have to be patient to wait and see how it all plays out.

Or we don't buy into the insanity that has become paying college coaches. Well, we did with Collins since he was not really ready, nor had the track record for the contract he was given. Look at Texas AM - I bet they regret that contract now...
