Key Fans, I Have Questions:

Riiiight. I’ll bet you believe that Chadwell turned us down for a shot at USF, eh?

I expect I’ll have you back on my ignore list soon enough. Quit yer bitchin’
Fritz was demanding too much being his best stint was at Sam Houston Institute of Technology. He wanted the "retire to the big lake front house on GT" contract and wasn't going to get it, being he has never stepped foot on the field as a P5 coach.

Chadwell's resume isn't that damn impressive. Somehow, some posters fell in love with him. Meh.

Doesn't matter. He is a "tech man" and that is all that matters. They did the "tech man" thing with Roof, how did that work? Did they the "tech man" thing with Collins, how did that work? It doesn't matter. He is a "tech man", so abilities be damned. I see Key as nothing more than a .500 head coach, at best. I just hope he didn't get signed to some insane deal. But, as usual. Key will be defended left and right, until things are really bad. Because.......he's a "tech man".
From what I saw of CBK as interim coach I think we can be a whole lot better than a 500 team. Heck , as an interim coach taking over a dumpster fire he was .500 with three wins over teams with 8 wins or more. We were down to our 3rd and 4th string QB. So if he can go 4-4 with all those issues he had to tackle, I think the ceiling is pretty high without all those issues. GO JACKETS!

I don't share the same optimism. Key is happy to prove me wrong, all he wants.

FWIW: Chadwell wanted to bring his Whole staff ie like Coach Collins, the AD wasn't down with that so we moved on to Will Fritz, who needed more money then we could or was willing to pay.... IIWII. Go Jackets, Go Coach Key!

The fact that Zach Pyron was our best QB this season speaks to how Coach Key needs to not only up or strength and conditioning program, but evaluate talent better moving Forward! However we have a better shot now that Clown Collins is gone!

No, it’s not all that matters. It’s just icing on the cake.
Did they the "tech man" thing with Collins, how did that work?
Not too well, but Collins wasn’t a Tech man.

Not too well, but Roof wasn’t HC.

He demonstrated he has some really good abilities.

He’ll be defended against irrational and wrong attacks, because he’s the coach. He‘ll be criticized for mistakes, Tech man or not.

You left off Bill Curry, a Tech man with far less experience than Key how did that turn out?

Maybe you should go start your own message board to drag down Key and sabotage recruiting to be certain you are proved correct. You could call it bbuzzoff.

I have read the article. It says we struggled to lure a "big outside name." Fritz and Chadwell are not big outside names.

And there is no evidence to back up your FWIW. Just speculation. Of course a coach wants to bring the staff he wants. And of course a coach wants money. I'll bet that Key gets a contract as big as Fritz would've gotten. There's no reason not to pay him fair market value.

I don’t disagree that he could command that compensation, but he can set himself up for life by taking a discount now (which would still be close to 3 times he ever made) and pour it back into his staff. And he‘d still have something left to help the AA by making a donation (which is matched by the Tech Foundation until the end of the year). He can rack up some AT points.

Key wasn’t my first choice , but I’d rather have him instead of a guy that is a senior citizen . I don’t think we could afford much which concerns me cause we need a bball coach lol

My sources tell me that Chadwell demanded to bring his entire staff and needed more $$, Fritz wanted more money and wanted to wait until after the Cotton Bowl to accept and announce. I am not sure of anyone else so it sounds like out of the 12 candidates CBK was at least in the top 3. What is interesting is that it appears that an offer was made to Chadwell and Fritz before offering CBK. I am not so sure what that means, if anything at all.

Maybe.... I think GT wasted so much money on Collins, that the coffers were pretty bare. Hopefully Key proves to be the bargain of a lifetime. We'll see. It will be an interesting offseason.

I just don't the Kool-Aid. I am clearly stating that he will be a .500 coach. That is my belief and my opinion. I'm sorry I don't agree with you. I will be more than happy to admit to be wrong, should Key prove me wrong. Until then, you have no data, no facts, no evidence to suggest we will be the greatest thing since sliced bread. For every UNC game, I can throw a UVA game out there. So, don't even go there.

Your “sources”. You gonna link the ESPN article from Thamiel again?

You have no proof that offers were made. In fact, we have a real “source” posting here that has a close personal relationship with Key who said the ink was dry a week ago or more. That source is more credible than anything you have provided so far.

Give it up dude, Key is your coach. Embrace it.

It means that Ma Tech chose the lowest cost option available.
That didn't work out so well with Gregory,Pastner or the clown but i hope it's successful this time.
I hope he's wildly successful but expect to be here again in three years

I do embrace CBK as HC and support him. Hopefully we can get back to winning 6 & 7 games on the annual. He is an upgrade over Clown Collins. The fact still remains that Chadwell and Fritz turned down GT. IIWII
