Khalil Tate tweeted he didnt want the TO so Niumatalolo wouldnt be hired

How so? There is greater choice of major, but the minimum SAT scores are similar.

Private schools can make any exception they want, and their SAT scores are not subject to public knowledge. We literally have no idea what the academic standards are for, say, Duke football. They can take literally anyone. And they can create majors to stick them in that will require no work.

Bwahahahaha! Tell us another one.

it's better than the "we can't do any better than CPJ!!" attitude of complete, total defeatism. It's better than another dismal regime of IIWII football.

We can and we will do better when the time comes that it's necessary to do so.

Recap: Back up QB flashes. Media frenzy. Media puts Tate on the Heisman watch list. Rich Rod fired. AZ reported interest in Niumatololo. Tate tweets he doesn't want option. School meets with him and praises his input. Hires Sumlin. Tate sucks. Battles injuries. Sucks. AZ misses bowl game. Now may transfer.

I like option football. I want it at more schools. I was hoping AZ would take the plunge. When they didn't, I wanted them to fail.

Got what they deserve, IMO. Tate could've been a Heisman contender in an offense that emphasized his skill set, but instead they tried to get him to sling it all over the field and it (predictably) went South. Hell, Niumatalolo had Keenan Reynolds on the Heisman ballots, and he wasn't even close to as talented as Tate.

Been waiting for someone to bump this thread..

Paul JOHNSON said this on his radio show last week. “I spoke with Navy coach Ken Niamatoloolololo (sp). I know for a fact he was offered the Arizona job but he turned it down. It had nothing to do with the quarterbacks tweets.”

*paraphrasing CPJ’s comments

Wouldn't you turn it down if the star player had come out publicly and said the team didn't want you?

Also, sounds like the kid thought a little too highly of his ability. Sounds like he did need a running type offense.

I would take nimatalololol just for his energy as a coach right now.
Well, I was watching the Navy/Tulane game this morning and he was all kinds of defeated on the sideline and energy wasn't there. Then again, I'd expect that with only having, what, three wins on the season? Note: I only watched the first and part of the second qtr, so I have no clue how the game ended.

Maybe the option has run its course? Then again what the hell do I know.

Navy has had two bad seasons in a row. I don't know if it's the coach or the kids or what. But last year and this year they just seem... blah.

I highly doubt niumotolo would turn down the Arizona job just because a quarterback for the program tweeted he didn't like the triple option. Ken knows he can run the T.O. with any mobile QB and probably would have had no problem either convincing Tate to stay or finding a transfer/back up who would want to run it.
