Kids dont love it

I don’t know how many players wanted him to stay, but any that are upset about the firing can turn in their uniform, return their scholarship money and we will use those same funds towards the mother of all payouts.

I do believe Collins tried his best, and clearly the players appreciated the relationships that he built with them.

The results were total dogshit. Actually lower than dogshit. This was so obviously inevitable at this point. The players had to see this coming. The GT football brand was set back years if not a decade or more by the results under this guy.

It will be interesting to see if we have any players who choose not to play game 5 and burn a year of eligibility. That is fine, we need to be playing the people who will be back for next season.

I disagree. In 20 years this program will die out with its aging fanbase unless this mentality changes. It’s actually pretty serious.
In 20 years the program will die if the adults don’t do what adults are supposed to do- lead, make wise choices, ensure discipline, etc

Kids calling the shots is a losing proposition. We got way too much of it these days. It’s called being spoiled and it doesn’t run out well.

if his players loved him so much why did so many transfer
was coming here to say this. add in departure of coach choice. I dont think all the players were happy with CGC. I recently spoke to a former player who left the team with eligibility left because of CGC antics/goofing off in practice/blaring music in workouts, instead of putting in the work to win games. I think the real winners on the team won't be too upset, but dont blame the players who feel betrayed/blindsided. admin decision makers need to sit the team down and explain the situation and let them know they deserve better than CGC and can achieve more without him, but i'm sure they'll mess this transition up as well, because tech.

From what I am gathering with what rumors and speculation that I read last night:
  • Board meeting was scheduled for Monday afternoon.
  • Board meeting was scheduled for Monday morning at 11:30.
  • The 11:30 meeting wasn't a board meeting, it was a meeting with that athletic department employees to inform them of the changes.
  • The coach was treated poorly and forced to go directly to his car and leave the facility.
  • A large number of players are upset about how poorly GT treated the coach and treated them with how they handled the announcement.
I wasn't there and don't know what happened. They had a board meeting, I assume but I don't know what time it took place. I don't know if the athletic association employees had a meeting or what time that meeting was. I assume the players had a meeting, but I don't know. An institute person took over the athletic association, and escorting a fired employee from the building is exactly how it works in corporate and academia.

I don't see that much to really be upset about. I don't think the issue is that the university did anything really wrong. I would say if anyone did anything wrong, it was Ken for breaking the story before they had a chance to meet with the players. But I don't think that he was wrong either. It is just a fact of life today that you can't control information.

He walked to the car with almost $11 million in his pocket. It would be like me leaving the Georgia Lottery building after claiming the prize. They need to stop feeling sorry for him.

He will likely be on a defensive staff recruiting against us soon enough.

Im sick and tired of the modern childish athlete. We the fans need to work overtime to remind everyone in this sport how replaceable they are.
