Late 3rd quarter and Key finally agreed. We just look limited when he's out there

Haynes is not coming back.
Not sure I really get your reasoning on the last sentence (outside of our collective ingrained pessimism). Why do you figure Philo getting PT has any bearing on King's availability later this season?Putting in Philo seems to indicate that we are desperate to find a better option than Pyron, who seems to be reading and passing in slow motion. Also makes me think Haynes is not coming back.
Not sure that a battle between the 2nd and 3rd string quarterbacks has anything to do with the status of the first string quarterback. That's pretty much why we have strings.Putting in Philo seems to indicate that we are desperate to find a better option than Pyron, who seems to be reading and passing in slow motion. Pyron is hurt. He was hurt going into ND and got plastered that game.Putting in Philo seems to indicate that we are desperate to find a better option than Pyron, who seems to be reading and passing in slow motion. Also makes me think Haynes is not coming back.
Our OL was supposed to be a major strength. Instead we are going through QB's at a rapid rate. If Philo continues to play, he is at risk too.Pyron is hurt. He was hurt going into ND and got plastered that game.
By the way, Philo has played in 2 games now, so he has 2 more regular season games he can play in and keep his redshirt. He would be allowed to play in a bowl game though if we go. Sort of under the radar rule change this year is that only regular season games count towards your redshirt... so anybody that played 4 games regular season could play any post season games (conference championship, bowl, playoffs) and still keep the red shirt. Our OL was supposed to be a major strength. We are #1 in the nation in fewest sacks allowed. Our OL was supposed to be a major strength. Instead we are going through QB's at a rapid rate. If Philo continues to play, he is at risk too.
And Haynes King hasn't gotten sacked. Louisville got credited with a sack which was on a designed run play. Pyron has gotten sacked 2 or 3 times IIRC.We are #1 in the nation in fewest sacks allowed.
Technically, we are third but the two teams ahead of us are Army and Navy.
Why would that make you think Haynes isn't coming back? Pyron was playing terribly at VT. I don't think he's a bad QB, but it was a really bad day for him. You had to switch QBs just to see what someone else could do.Putting in Philo seems to indicate that we are desperate to find a better option than Pyron, who seems to be reading and passing in slow motion.
