Last in the Coastal

Regardless of when and how CPJ leaves Tech, we are going to suck for a good long time unless we get one of his protégées here to run a same or similar offense. We will not be able to flip a switch and run most offenses. Hell, we can't even run 3 step drops now without the entire defense running buckwild in the backfield.

You've got too much speed on the edge - Carter, Floyd, Jenkins - for Southern. Southern's passing game also is ... well, it's cute when they try to pass. Breida, Ramsby, Ellison and Fields - who is a beast in the making - will be a handful. But they got shut down by App and West Va. They have feasted on the moribund programs that populate the Sun Belt.

I'm not sold on Southern's defense - the secondary, aside from Dobson, is still nothing special - but if you don't keep their running backs in front of you, Georgia should win.

You let Breida, Ellison, Fields get behind you ... it's gonna be a long day for the Dawgs. And maybe the best day ever for the Eagles. Still don't know that I would trade the 85 NC or the 89 perfect season for it.

Maybe the only team to go to a bowl or deserving of one this year from Georgia will be the real GSU.

I agree on the count of effort, unfortunately for you your team has seemed to have little fight in them. But even if we beat VPI and Miami while Georgia drops their games including Southern, I'll still expect a toss-up at best come Thanksgiving weekend, that's just the nature of that game.

But what I fully expect to happen is that Georgia beats Kentucky, has a dogfight with Auburn (or even has a shocking win by two or more scores) and then handles business against Southern before coming to Atlanta. I've waited a long time to see Georgia have a catastrophic meltdown of a season and they always figure out a way to prevent that from happening no matter how dark things get.

I'd be very surprised if you don't get your wish this season. By a huge distance the biggest mess since Ray Goff.

Some of your boards have some chatter going on about serious internal issues, mostly involving Pruitt. Know anything about that?

Word is that he's been running his mouth and behaving like a "loudmouth redneck" and has even earned the ire of Richt himself. What makes it interesting is that Pruitt's presence has been one of the big reasons some Georgia fans were willing to keep faith in Richt. If the rumors are true, things may be as shaky inside as they are out, and the thing we've all been hoping for might actually come to fruition if Georgia doesn't turn it around in a hurry.
 
Our offense isn't bad. They just can't score when it matters most.
