Last in the Coastal

When you get beat by Duke you become Duke.

The hot seat will come in 2016 if, he doesn't win 8 or beat UGAG this year or next.

I imagine if the jackets lose the rest of the games this year I could see CPJ possibly getting dumped, but with a win over at least uga that could be worth a keeper for another season to see if he can get them back on track.

How would yall feel to win the next couple games and then lose to uga? I would almost rather lose the next couple and just beat uga and be happy with that if we had a choice!

If we lose out, his seat should definitely be warm, but we would be incredibly foolish to fire him (both financially and just from a general crippling of our football program perspective).

We still have an opportunity to go 3-1 against the vaunted "big 4". I'll take a win against any of them. We've been close in the majority of our games, I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility of getting a couple more in the win column.

If you want a top 10 team every year, switch over to the basketball forum and bitch there. GT should be able to make that happen.

Paul Johnson wouldn't get fired unless we do this again next year, and even then he might still be employed. Unless H-Town is going to throw a couple million at the AA.

Paul Johnson is the coach at Georgia Tech for at least 2 more seasons unless he retires.

You all are aware that, if we fire Paul Johnson, and then Paul Johnson takes a job with a team we play the next year, we will get the crap beat out of us by PJ's new team.

If we fire Paul Johnson, we will get the crap kicked out of us by a lot of teams the next year.

Wait, I thought this was a basketball thread?

We certainly DO NOT have the talent to beat any of the three teams left on our schedule. We don't have the talent to beat Virginia. Virginia. That was not a flukey, crazy play, bounce-of-the-ball loss. They lined up and beat us. Virginia. Cavman. They poured Zima down our trousers and made us like it. They poured us a saucer of milk and made us lap it up and purr for them. We are the Wake of our division. The wheels have come completely off.

The total yardage was basically dead even, and we were like 30 yards away from scoring and winning the game. Just like Virginia was one stop from beating top 10 Notre Dame.

Nice Zima joke, though.

yep. we were almost as good as mighty UVA.

Almost.

Yep - we'd lose to bottom-dweller teams like UVA and get blown out by a team like Clemson.

Losing five of six games by an average of less than a touchdown isn't getting the crap kicked out of us.

I'm not sad that we're losing (well, I am, but it is what it is). I'm sad because losing has brought the idiots back out. The idiots that are only happy when we're losing because they can be idiots.

Yeah, a lot of this. I seem to have accepted that we were not going to be very good this year rather quickly (probably after UNC) - I was expecting 8-4/7-5, so we're not missing my guess by as much as the folks who thought we'd go all the way. I can deal with the losing (though I did hope we'd turned the corner after FSU).

Listening to a bunch of know-nothings freak out and gloat because they get to be miserable and discount everything positive that we've accomplished in the last few years is way worse than having a bad season for the first time in ~20 years.

Why don't you sit a few plays out?

Some of you haven't watched my Dawgs play. I'm incredulous that anybody here is marking that up as a loss. UGA hasn't scored a TD in nine quarters. We aren't so much a train wreck as a multi-railroad smashup at Grand Central. It's probably been since '96--the year before both our bowl streaks began--that this state had so much suckage in college football. Our Georgia Southern game should be a pick'em. EDIT: On second thought, I wouldn't use "suckage" to describe GT football. Your team is making an effort and doesn't look inept.
