Lil Joe arrested for DUI and hit and run...

Bobby Cremins recieved an invitation from Joe to drive him home but he had been hoping to hear from Jarrett Jack, so he declined.

Joe Hamilton made a big mistake that would get him fired from most any job. He should be fired from Tech also. A COACH can't do this.

I hear Bobby was on his way to pick up Joe, but then unexpectedly turned around.

Actually I doubt that's true. You're saying that if a guy in the steam plant did the same thing he would be fired? I don't believe that.

What we can't do is have Joe stay in a position that works with players and recruits. That doesn't mean Tech has to fire him if there is something we can do to support him while he puts things right.

No, as a GT employee, he is subject to the classified employee handbook. If the things listed in the police report are true, then he has at least 3 major rules violations. Only one is needed for termination.

Given my experience, I can say that if ANY employee were arrested for drunk driving and drug possession on campus by GT Police, they would be terminated. Read the employee handbook.

And before you say that he's a GTAA employee, not a GT employee, I'd respond that there have been some changes in that area.

Either way, he took the honorable way out.

I seriously doubt that mistake would get him fired from most jobs. Most jobs wouldn't even know he did it, except for him being about to lose his drivers license.

That said, he wasn't employed at a normal job. His job description probably included the words "role model" in there somewhere...

BBR: I didn't think he was on campus, just near it.
