ageism is the new racismMost of our fans probably don't even have 7 years left on this earth.
My account was erased a year or so ago and couldn’t get it activated for some reason. By the time I got some mod help I was on a new one. I’ve been here for at least 15-20 years. Not remotely what I was saying. My comment was in reference to the lack of fans, and the ever dwindling fan base that started early Gailey. It’s not a new phenomenon that a large portion of our fans only post on here after a loss - never during the off season and never after a win. Just look at how many we have posting this week that still have the “varsity lurker” moniker with join dates several years ago. It’s like our fans only like the miserable times.
You've posted plenty during the offseason and not just after a loss. You're not one of the ones I'm talking about. My account was erased a year or so ago and couldn’t get it activated for some reason. By the time I got some mod help I was on a new one. I’ve been here for at least 15-20 years.
ESPN has us favored in two games the rest of the way, by FPI
Saturday against the Owls.
Against Duke. By a smidgen.
And that's it.
That’s simply not fair to say. During the off season whenever we have discussions many posters make comments about the subjects not being worthy. So most folks simply stop. Take the expansion talk thread. That was a good/fun thread to pass 2-3 weeks of off season time and yet posters were upset that it kept going. What the heck else are we suppose to talk about during the off season? This is game 1 and we would have seen an uptick in posts whether we won or lost. By losing in that fashion you are going to see a response. Not remotely what I was saying. My comment was in reference to the lack of fans, and the ever dwindling fan base that started early Gailey. This is not a new phenomenon. Happens every year, but not until the first loss. Then they go away when we start winning. Every single year. That’s simply not fair to say. I wish more folks posted during the off season but I don’t blame them because the same posters constantly belittle those who do when the topics aren’t deemed “worthy” enough. It looks like we now have a singular topic to discuss on and off season until we either get e new coach or this one removes his head from his …..
Their QB led the team in receiving yards at halftime... with 9....I'll trade Collins for any of these. Particularly the Louisville coach. YES, I know we beat them last year but don't care. Satterfield will turn out good.
The next time someone asks why there are so many CPJ comparisons just show them this.Look, if you played football, or knew anything about it, you would see what a monumental undertaking it is transitioning from the option. The fact is you and your nerd pals don’t get it. T-Stan and his football buds, they get football. That’s why questions about the fans and how they feel are met with condescension by the staff and AD. You just don’t get it. This is the only possible way this could’ve gone and we are being successful. You’ll see.
The triple option lost us another decade because very few people under 60 find it entertaining. Casual fans certainly do not.
The average Tech student cares more about the library than the football team. This was true back in the early 2000's and is worse today.I grew up only attending Tech home games. Never went to another stadium until the early 2000s I went to a UT game and was blown away how many fans they had that were in their 20s and early 30s. Tech games were always students, 40 and up parents, and grandparents.
Lost revenue won’t be anywhere near the buyout. Tech fans are cheap. We have to be enticed with free chicken sandwiches to buy tickets. Collins isn’t going anywhere for two years. You’re an idiot if you think otherwise.
