Gibbs and Mason both averaged 5+ yards a carry and ran for 100 yards.
Close, but no. Neither crossed the magic 100 yard threshold, Gibbs was just shy of 5.00 yards per carry.

And, I guess to your point, had we scored when we were inside the 5, one of them probably would be over 100 yards and we would’ve won the game.Close, but no. Neither crossed the magic 100 yard threshold, Gibbs was just shy of 5.00 yards per carry.
Gibbs makes it look so easy that it looks like he sucks.Gibbs and Mason both averaged 5+ yards a carry and ran for 100 yards.

Exactly. Let him do what he is “good” at like recruiting, being everybody’s buddy, branding, culture, etc. and let him be “head coach” and face of the program. Give the real coaching, teaching, drilling, game planning, game management, etc. to somebody or somebodies that know WTF they are doing. That may or may not be anybody currently on staff. It clearly is not Collins. My defense of Geoff Collins is this. He can recruit and the players seem to like him. Give him good offensive and defensive coordinators and let him be the face of the program while the assistants run everything. One of the assistants will be "coach in waiting" (waiting for Geoff's contract to run out).
True, but it was an improvement. Obviously, we lost (another) game we should have won. Everything that could have went wrong did, but we did see improvements. I’m looking forward to our bowl game this year.As we heard every week at the end of the CPJ era, rushing yards don’t win games.

Sims over 5 as well. We should have run the ball early and often. Our OL was getting good movement between the tackles. Should have dumped the lateral stretch plays and replaced those to quick outs to the uncovered WR.
We picked up that game plan in the second half. Sims wasn’t accurate but he also wasn’t put in a position to be successful while he was in. NIU was dropping I believe cover 4 leaving the underneath stuff open and the play calls were dialed up for 10+ yard throws.
It's obvious that you know more about what works than P'nut does, but then who doesn't?Yeah, why we were running routes to their CBs is a mystery. Take the easy throws until the drop down closer to the los. There was literally no need for outside runs. Just toss the ball out there or run inside. Let NIU waste their LBs who were too far out for quickly developing plays.

That's for damn sureNo, he knows way more than me. Unfortunately, he isn’t coaching against aerospace engineers. He is getting beat by football coaches with far less talented players.
