Matthew Jordan Lore

No doubt was thrilled to get a V in Blacksburg. Marcus Marshall played lights out as did many others. Mathew Jordan played so conservatively it was nerve wracking, botched center exchanges, the errant pitch to Marshall, again a misthrow to Marshall down the seam. I know he can throw better, I have seen it. We were very fortunate in the generosity VT's offense and ST's. Like I said will take the victory but look forward to having JT back. MJ is pretty formidable in short yardage package but not quite ready to turn over the keys to the ramblin wreck just yet.

I concur. Thankfully, we got those turnovers right off the bat and were able to play with a lead. If we had been down a few touchdowns early, I don't know that MJ has the throwing arm to get us back in the game.

Seriously?
Yeah seriously. I'm all for vitriol and cussedness, but when emotions are riding high (like when they are trying to mount a 23 point comeback), things can get really chippy and that is when players get hurt, etc. By catching the kickoff and sliding, he simultaneously snuffed out the comeback and calmed everybody down. That was the most docile and friendly end to a GT - VPI game that I recall.

I don't think his arm is the issue. He's got zero pocket presence right now. There were a couple of times where the blocking looked fine but he was all over the place in the pocket and throwing off his back foot. That does seem like something that should improve with experience, so I hope he can do that before he's the likely starter next year.

Jordan made a few serious mistakes and needed to settle down, but overall he gotter dun and I repeat that he should get about 4-5 series each game.

Plus, if he were to somehow fumble it would have really, really sucked

I heard one of the announcers botch it with this name twice coming out of half time. Was there any others that I missed?
I think at one point they called him Rosecrans McQuarterback. I could be wrong. I drank a few Dragons Milks after I had warmed up on some Southern Pecan.

He came off the bench and he brought the Shillelagh and his lucky charms with im.

You can't advance the ball. Rules...

Yes that was my point. I'm trying to find a link to explain it but haven't been able to.

If the ball hasn't traveled 10 yards, it is not a live ball. If the receiving team recovers it within the 10 yard zone, it is a dead ball.
