Saw an interview on ACCN with Miami's new coach, Mario Cristobal. Guy impressed me,wish we had him instead of CGC. Focused, got a firm demeanor and plan versus our 'culture' sales man.

Tuesday,8-16-22, will be the day for GT coverage. Might be worth watching.

Eh, Cristobal is going to have a tough year instilling discipline. Miami is looking at six wins with a couple of ass poundings.

Next year they will be better. Two years from now they will deserve this years hype.

So he had all the phrases down? Is Miami embracing their legacy? Working hard? Embracing their culture? Focused?

Coach speak is fun in the off-season. Every coach has great things to say until his team gets punched in the mouth. Then, it is "gotta watch some tape. Building. Not where we want to be yet. Yadda yadda"

I will call it here. After two warm up games, one being a big impressive win over Bethune Cookman, Miami gets curb stomped by Texas A&M 45-10.

Two years from now they will still not be as good as when they joined the ACC and they couldn't even win the ACC then.

I wouldn't underestimate Mario Cristobal. 2 years from now when he's upgraded Miami's talent from highly rated undisciplined imbeciles shooting their mouths off to better quality recruits trained and capable of backing up their formerly false bravado, watch out. He's got a weak ACC & can dominate for a decade. This threat is real and for once da U didn't crap themselves when they hired a head coach.

It's a hell of a resume. One good season at Oregon. I'm not counting the abbreviated Covid Pac12 season. Two good seasons if you count that one.

Miami is similar to Georgia Tech in a couple of aspects:

1. They have relatively poor support from current student body and alumni who don’t value their football program.

2. Today’s good high school players cannot remember their legendary days, it’s been so long ago.
They have a large number of turncoat fans, but they're generally pretty rabid. They win a few games & they'll all come out of the woodwork. They're not wait 4 years and see fans like GT.

Yeah he sucks. 9-4, 12-2 & 10-3 at Oregon in 3 non-Covid seasons. That's 31-9. I think you're too used to the 9 being on the other side of the dash line.

Too early to say. Maybe he will be good, but he hasn't done anything to get praise for yet, certainly not from us.

He's won 2 P5 conference championships and was named the top recruiter in the nation by 247Sports, ESPN, Rivals and Scout. It is doubtful we will be able to recruit a coach with a resume anything like that to replace CGC.

I agree but I am not sure discipline is, or ever has been, on the radar for Collins.

Is this the same Miami that hired Richt expecting to return to dominance? I’ll wait to see results before being worried about another “da U is back” coach.

6 Wins? Based on what?

Bullseye. It's going to be the Clemson / UM show very quickly. Until Clemson leaves at least

Oregon was a pretty well oiled machine. He just had to not screw it up. Miami is not an easy job, as their recent mediocrity has shown. We'll see.
