Miami Depth Chart...Sims QB1

I can’t imagine Key gives a damn about the kid’s RS. He’s gonna play whomever gives him the best chance at a coaching job.
Unless Key is deep down thinking "I'm gone" and knows Pyron is really good and thinks "if I land somewhere else as a position coach, Pyron can portal and have the 4 full seasons"

Interesting idea. But Mr P may not be anywhere 4 seasons. He is the real deal.

If Pyron were that good CBK would’ve started him the game after he took over.

CBK is coaching like his future depends on it. Because it does. He’s not thinking about anyone’s RS or whether or not he could get them to follow him. Follow his where? If CBK doesn’t get this job, he’s either taking some time off, looking at being a position coach in P5 (maybe), or best case an FCS coaching job. No P5 starting QB is following him in any of these scenarios.

Not correct. Collins kept Pyron on the scout team so he never got first-team reps nor did he have an opportunity to learn the playbook. In short, Collins completely wasted his talent. So Key/Long/Weinke got him up to speed as quickly as possible - its a miracle (and a testament to Pyron) that he was ready to go so soon.

In short, if you want to pin Gibson being the backup over Pyron, blame the idiot clown that Cabrera sent packing without a cell phone.

I think people were up at arms for many other reasons.
Some of us saw the failure much earlier than those who blindly bought in to the salesman.

I think the ATL actually showed us early how BAD his salesmanship was. Many people questioned this dumb idea from the start. Still, Collins stuck with it.

Over time, the ATL never garnered NEW proponents. If anything, early fans gradually realized how stupid it was.

J Batt: Brent, thanks for coming in for the interview. Can you explain why you burned Pyron's RS for me, please?

iCBK: It gave me the best chance at winning games.

J Batt: Oh I see.
Fify. With the portal and kids leaving early, you play your best players every game regardless of age. If they're good they probably won't play a full 4 years or they will transfer.

All references to ATL need to go. It’s still on our uniforms. In all of the games I’ve watched this year I haven’t seen one area code on a uniform.
Yeah you know we used to pack over 60,000 fans into Bobby Dodd before the mid 60's and it was because Atlanta was ours. We barely do half of that now. Maybe getting Atlanta involved isn't that bad a notion. What negativity does trying to claim Atlanta bring to you? Maybe you enjoy sitting in Bobby Dodd with no one around you?

Because if you don't live in the city of Atlanta proper, then GT is not your team. If you live outside of the City of Atlanta your team is the one in Athens that represents the entire state. That's how dumb the ATL marketing is. Same with the 404 marketing.

What is dumb is trying to rationalize your post. You just said "city of Atlanta proper." 404 means city of Atlanta proper. You don't have to be a hip hop artist to know that. Not surprising coming from you though. You don't get out much I assume?

404 is an area code that covers a small fraction of the state; but more than just the City of Atlanta. 404 does not mean city of Atlanta proper. ATL is short for the City of Atlanta. You don't have to be a genius to figure this stuff out. But I guess you like sitting alone in an empty stadium because that sales pitch helped clear it out. The ATL & 404 marketing can alienate a large portion of what should be the fan base that aren't in the ATL or don't have a 404 area code. Might as well market 30332 while you're at it. If you got out more you would know that many people try to avoid the ATL whenever they can; so that marketing pitch can easily be seen as a negative.

The people trying to avoid the ATL whenever they can are rarely Georgia Tech fans and even more rarely ever actually attend a game.

…well yeah. That’s kinda the whole point. To brand ourselves along with the city to change that. What would be dumb would be to entirely give up on ever having sidewalk fans.

Sidewalk fans don't actually come right off the sidewalk. It isn't like the guys at the soup kitchen on Pine Street are going to decide to attend the game this weekend.

But you guys go ahead and sport your ATL & 404 garb, I like being able to see who the dimwit Collins fans are from a distance.
