Mike Leach

Well dang, now I feel awful. Hang in there, coach! We're all praying for you!

Pretty reliable source. Steve Robertson is 247's Mississippi State insider.

It's probably made up to get clicks, so it won't be made official. All indications point to heart attack.rather than stroke.

But yeah, even if that is the case still an asshole.
I assumed the dude was an asshole when I read "Proud UGA alum" on his bio.

That said, seems like he was the first one this morning to break the real news about Mike Leech's condition being terminal.

----

Jeremy Schaap: "When people write the Mike Leach obituary, how do you want to be remembered?" Mike Leach: "Well that's their problem ... what do I care, I'm dead."

RIP to a quote machine.

There may not ever be a more likable person and unique human being in CFB than Mike Leach. There are countless memorable quotes and video clips of Mike Leach saying and doing things only Mike Leach could say or do. I never watched Friday Night Lights but he did a short cameo linked below. For some reason, this stands out to me.

"...you've got to find your inner pirate. A lot of times things just happen for a reason. We don't know why God wants it that way but you can't make the best out of it until you get back your inner pirate. You might be the luckiest man alive and not even know it."

The legend of Pirate Mike Leach will never be forgotten. May he sail on forever in the heart of everyone's inner pirate.

Never Mind

This is awful. Such a unique individual. I'm sending good vibes to him and his family - if he doesn't make it, the college football world will definitely be a worse place without him.

When CPJ was here, I dreamt of GT meeting Washington State in a bowl. Two hard-nosed, call-it-like-they-see-it football coaches (one a pirate) with radically different offenses. Both innovators. Both doing it their way.

Still sad we never got to see the two of them matched up.

I don't think the world could've handled that.

If that is fake this person should be publicly disembowed

My blurry vision initially read that as "to get chicks" :eek2: Fawn Liebowitz, God rest her soul.

Poor Fawn. Gone too soon.

In an eerie coincidence, her high school senior yearbook (C. Estes Kefauver Memorial High School, 1964) contains a chilling foreshadowing of her untimely fate.

We all loved her.

Ideally in the Sun Bowl.

Closest we got was Air Force vs WSU in the Cheez it bowl. https://www.espn.com/college-football/matchup/_/gameId/401135275

Option team dominated Time of Possession.

Been there, waiting for a loved one to pass on and trying to keep them comfortable. Too many times. I'm tearing up now even thinking about someone going through it.

God bless you and your family, coach.
Same here. Prayers sent!
