I've had season tix for 30 years so it's obviously not about the W/L record when it comes time to renew.

I have noticed, however, that some of our best seasons have come within a few years of some pretty bleak ones so I try to keep a long term view.

Georgia Tech has put together winning football teams non-stop for the past 20 years. Only 2 or 3 bad seasons. Only problem is most of the winning seasons have been barely over .500 and meaningless bowls, so it seems fairly mediocre. this team was supposed to be a huge upgrade from last year, but I just don't see it at all. I feel as if we have a chance to lose all of our games and will probably just barely make it to a bowl game with 6 or 7 wins at the most. At this point the only two games I am keying on are Southern and UGA. win those two and I'll be happy with the season, bowl game or not. Either way, let's see what CPJ has up his sleeve for next year. We certainly can't afford to fire him and he seems to be the best when his back is against the wall. Which more than likely will be the case with a new AD. I haven't been a season ticket holder for a few years now so I won't take part in the poll, but I will go to the games no matter what just because I love the Jackets.

It's not like I'm gonna pick a new team from a school I didn't graduate from. I like watching college football and GT is my team. If you want to support your team then buy season tickets and go to as many games as you can. Tech has as cheap a season ticket option as you'll find from decent P5 schools as well as one of the largest median salaries. Think of it as an investment in your future happiness every fall.

It's a sickness. Can't stop myself, and won't seek help. The bad seasons are just the seasoning that makes the good seasons taste better.

No, you'll just move the goalpost.

At one point Duke was the cupcake.

You are right. At one point Duke was a cupcake. At one point Baylor was the worst team in college football. At one point Clemson was coached by Tommy Bowden and despite going 8-4 on the reg they still put butts in seats.

What was your vote?
I'm not a divorced empty nester with nothing to do on Saturday mornings. So I go to as many games a year as I can and the ones I can't make I don't worry about.

According to this very scientific poll, there is no reason to rule #1 CPJ because the buyout will be more than lost ticket revenue. You're welcome, AD. I'm already doing your job better than you.

So are you saying you only go when you have nothing else to do. Hell, I schedule my Saturday's the whole season around GT schedule. Even the people I work with scheduled a weekend trip for us on an away game Saturday because they knew I wouldn't go otherwise. I've turned down 2 family trips and caused friends to reschedule a trip already this season because of home games.

This is what Johnson was talking about. When you have mediocre fans, the results are empty seats or more seats for opposing teams to fill. Recruits look at these facts.

Season tix for me every year as long as I can no matter how many wins. Love football, love GT!

He made the point earlier that us empty nesters can't relate to his situation, being a young married man with a youngster and a UGA wife who is always telling what he can and cannot do. That certainly must make things tough.
