Not a huge fan of either "It's Third Down!" or "It's Money Down". Would prefer the crowd noise be loud enough on its own to take care of the situation without the PA hyping it.

We have been for many years (like a ton of other schools) imitating the miami fire extinguisher stuff.

Let's trh something different - like running out through FIRE!

Seems like the new runout just has more people coming out in front of the Wreck and Team. IDK.

You only have three games to put up with it if you will be at each of the last three games. My $$$ says it will be canned after this season.

Dont think it will be canned but probably improved. More coordination needed between entities that have a piece in being loud on 3rd down.

Personally, "money down" should only be on 3rd and 5+. Let 3rd and less than 5 be 3rd down/Band play or something along those lines

I hope you're wrong. :-)

It is pretty lame even we were on our way to the CFP this year. It needs to die at TStan's end of the year assessment. I'm OK with the juice team but money down needs to go away.
 
I don't like a lot of things this coaching staff has done to make the program glitzy. The stupid money down is just one of them.

But, nobody gives a damn about Tech sports anymore. It's headed to extinction. So, if we kept doing things the way I liked, we'd be dead.

This new staff is not attractive to me, but I don't think we're trying to recruit 69 year olds. So, if pimperizing the program gets good players, OK.
 
Money down is one of those things that sucks right now because it’s done in half empty stadiums where everyone is sitting on their hands. Imagine if All the Way Turnt Up had been unleashed against Troy instead of in a night game against VT at a key moment.

when the team starts winning and we start filling the lower bowl of the stadium again (including the god forsaken south stands) money down will be lit.

This is a really good coaching staff. They will win big—as in ACC Titles.

And other P5 programs will start picking off our coordinators and assistant coaches in 3-4 years by offering more money and advanced coaching positions.

What if the team wins and the old dorks still sit on their hands? Viable scenario as it happens regularly when we win.

That’s the same everywhere but LSU.

We have proven before that our stadium can have as good of an atmosphere as any.

When CGC was hired, we all knew it came with a bunch of pieces of flair. You aren’t going to like all of them, so ignore the ones you don’t like. Money down is a stupid reason to complain.
 
CGC will be under a lot of pressure to win three games next year, to show he’s making progress. If he can go 3-9 in 2020, I'll be too relieved to worry about what he calls third down.

But, for the record, first, second and fourth downs are sort of important, too. But, I’m a traditionalist. I’m so old fashioned that I like coaches to wear socks.

Seeing progress now.

This team will be better than 3-9 next year, even with a tougher schedule. Mark it down.

I hope you’re right. I thought Tech looked really good for most of the game yesterday. But, fair catching a punt on the one yard line, giving up a TD kickoff return with seconds left before halftime and some other things don’t show great coaching.

Coaching is not responsible for all boneheaded player mistakes. Some times they just öööö up no matter how many times you tell them something.
