I actually thought it was To Raise Horatio, the fabled bastard child of all the males attending Tech, as a slight against women going to school when they should be child-rearing. The misogyny of the school is so strong that even a man's own daughter is not safe from its wrath.

I'll tell you what, I know some GT management alums who do math like that and they strut telling people they're GT grads. If andrew heard them, he would have an aneurysm.
That must be why my bonus wasn't as big as I was expecting last year.

I love how all you geezers are talking about how "sensitive" everyone has become and how my generation is full of "whiners."

Yet you've spent 11 pages on an internet forum yelling about a single word change to the fight song.

That's sexist. Also, change your settings. 3 pages.

6 pages?

öööö, knew I should have gone with post count.

Thanks for the tip.

Out of respect, though, I won't go back and change any of the words of my post. It was written in a different time.

I see what you did there.

well, they are GT grads. They probably make more than you too.

öööö on the field and now this öööö off the field. Being a Tech fan sure can be a pisser from time to time.

So, should we make a quick list of all the things we need to change about the RR song?

1. Remove gender biases of all kinds
2. Remove inflammatory language
3. Remove drinking references since almost all students are not of legal drinking age and the ones that are may have alcohol dependency issues

Anything else?

What about those who aren't from Georgia Tech? Seems we this is excluding 99.9% of the population. This elitist, exclusionary implication is offensive.

The RW fight song should hence forward be recognized as the RW sing-a-long.

The word FIGHT is way to violent for today's PC world.

Both very good points.

So we should make the song more inclusive for sidewalk fans. The first couple of verses are gonna be hard.

I cheer for the Ramblin Wreck's from Georgia Tech and I identify as an engineer.
A super, super, super, dooper engineer.
Like all my contemporary self-identifying engineers I enjoy adult beverages in moderation in like-minded company.
I self-identify as a Ramblin' Wreck from Georgia Tech and a super engineer.

Someone please tell me how there is gender bias. At least the daughter got on campus, according to the song the son is left at home to yell at the TV.

This is seriously the dumbest thing. They should have a petition to keep it the same.

I sent them an email telling them I was frustrated that they didn't provide the lines in the context of the whole verse. Of course, if they did that, they would have a tough time arguing for the change since the very next line speaks about the son also cheering.

I would encourage everyone else to do the same.
