More Praise for Sims

Absolutely. Imagine how awesome it would have been had we not lost 7 guys to injury so far. I really don’t think that’s getting enough attention in the media or from fans on here/elsewhere.

Remember how UGA lost to Bama in the natty game??? They didn’t have a single injury all year. Not one starter lost. You have to get lucky and be good to make a run. I’ll be happy when the injury bug leaves the program. It’s been bad ever since 2015 for some reason. Tech has had anincredible run of bad luck when it comes to injuries.
Was that UGAg natty played on 2/26? Seems late in the CFB season for a championship game, but 2/26 sticks out in my mind for some reason.

Last year Collins had to sell a dream which started the first play of the spring game - changing perception of the program to 14-18 year old males. The guy had to sell, sell, sell something out of thin air. And it worked as his first recruiting real class was amazing.

These first two games of the college football season have benefitted Collins more than any person on earth. 2 games on national TV with a an unexpected win and a Freshman QB who showed out and got national recognition. Game 2 features a sensational freshman RB who added electricity to the program. Collins now has substance to go with the dream he’s been selling for 18 months. I’m telling you, no one has benefited more from this season so far than GT’s brand and Collins. He is going to a beast on the recruiting trail with the examples of Sims and Gibbs. If UGA has a lackluster season by their standards (3 losses), you’ll see the public’s view of the two programs change. A lot of folks are already leery of Kirby. The tide is turning a lot faster than I ever imagined.

i'd hit the like button for this post, but don't know where it is. great post and agree w/all, especially the brand reference. couple the above with maybe a 6-5 year and you can absolutely feel the momentum changing around Ga. there's a lot of recent natty trophies living within 400 miles of here, it's not going to take much more to sell this place. gotta keep the level of excitement up as that's what will bring in the cruits!

Reggie Ball as a freshman would have won this game for sure.

We knew that Sims had the physical skills. Now we know he is struggling with the mental side. Syracuse dialed up pressure and he couldn't handle it. Pdude needs to emphasize recognizing the blitz and hitting the hot read. We need a safety valve he can go to, not making Gibbs try to pass block a blitzer. Sims needs a lot of work on ball protection.
