The Notre Dame game was televised on NBC and they put this graphic of the clown riding the ramblin wreck and the wheels coming off. My hatred for that piece of öööö peaked that day.
The atmosphere in south bend was such that it didn't hurt as bad as it should have, at least for me.

I already forgot about that. Now have to go look up the video.

Citadel is an easy pick but I picked Clemson instead. The magnitude of the score and the fact that they kept putting in backups including a punter at QB just made the whole program feel hopelessly and endlessly uncompetitive.

Ole miss was pretty embarrassing with Joey freshwater taking it easy on us

I almost paired ND/UGA for a 100-0 choice.
Stansberry seeing the progress to bring him back for another season was mind boggling.

Has to Furman
I knew a couple guys on that Furman team. They would have beaten a third to half of the teams in Division one that year. Between 82 and 85, they won 40 games in 4 years.

I was at that game and chewing nails when it was over but in retrospect, they were way better than us and way better than they got credit for. As I recall, Danny Sheridan was their coach and he was also very underrated.

That’s quite a list. Sad thing is you didn’t have to go back very many years, and that you could have kept going and going

I was there too. Huge disappointment. Losing to a lower division team was unthinkable at the time so it was a stunner. But Furman was the class of their conference and their running back, who ran for over a hundred, Stanford Jennings, was an all-star who played many years in the NFL, mostly with the Bengals. Dick Sheridan went on to coach at NC State and had success there as well although we did get him back in a big game against the Pack where Jerry Mays ran all over their ass. Sheridan just passed away in July.

i picked the 45-0 loss to a remarkably mediocre VPI team because of the most Clown move of all time.
It's already 45-0 in the fourth quarter, Clown is asking about some spot of the ball and as the refs usher him back to the sideline, he sticks his tongue like he's MJ, like he's having fun.
Down 45-0
at home
to an unremarkable Va Tech team
It's as angry as I've ever been watching a football game. And it showed the lack of seriousness with which he approached his job. It was embarrassing.
