Most Hated ACC Teams?

For me, the answer is as fluid as the question. Since being a GT fan/student/alumni, my 'hate' changes. When I was at GT 91-96' I hated F$U the most and then Dook and then UNC. Then there was a time when I hated France more. Fast forward to now, and Pitt is #1 on my list thanks to them being somewhat successful and their tool of a FB head coach. Plus when they beat us at home, their assistants were taunting our fans.

I agree. I’ve always liked Wake Forest, but their football coach is kind of annoying. I wish somebody would hurry up and hire him. The only reason I guess he hasn’t been hired by a bigger school is that they find him annoying also. It doesn’t change the fact that he is a good coach.

I think schools are afraid of the Grobe effect. He may be having occasional success at Wake, but the coaching style doesn’t translate to higher caliber (and higher ego) athletes.

I remember when Pitt joined the ACC, kind of thinking them as bros being that we're both historically good (but no longer blue blood) football schools located in major cities that are often overshadowed by a different in-state rival (I realize there are lots of other differences, bear with me). But man, Narduzzi soured me on Pitt quickly. I honestly can't even remember a specific incident, but I just think of him as an absolute douche wagon. It felt really good taking them to task with iCBK this past season.

Natduzzi was a prick to the circus clown, not hard feelings here.

I don't really fault him for that one, but I'm fairly positive my negative feelings towards him started in the CPJ days (I've largely blocked out GT football memories from 2019 to halfway through 2022, although subconscious hate surely still could have slipped in during that period).

I’m just bitter that we had a losing streak against such an irrelevant team that plays in front of an empty pro stadium. No reason we should ever lose two in a row to freakin’ Pitt.

Pitt has a hall of fame roster for their all time team.
Yeah they do. Dan Marino throwing to Larry Fitzgerald and Mike Ditka, or handing off to Tony Dorsett. Or Curtis Martin. Or LeSean McCoy. Defense stocked with Aaron Donald and Hugh Green and Joe Schmidt and Darrelle Revis and Rickey Jackson. Not to mention O-Line studs like Mark May and Russ Grimm and Bill Fralic and Jimbo Covert.

I hate everything about Pittsburgh. But I'm not stupid. Pop Warner? Five MNCs? Pitt has a very solid college football history.

No joke! Pitt has had some great players on some really good teams over the years. Just in my lifetime they’ve had Dan Marino (QB), Matt Cavanaugh (QB), Joe Flacco (QB), Tony Dorsett (RB), Craig Heyward (RB), Bill Fralic (OL), Russ Grimm (OL), Mark Stepnoski (OL), Jim Sweeney (OL), Mark May (OL), Mike Ditka (TE), Larry Fitzgerald (WR), Gary Burley (DL), Aaron Donald (DL), Chris Doleman (DL), Sean Gilbert (DL), Hugh Green (LB)…,

Flacco completed ONE pass at Pittsburgh. He's a Blue Hen.

Also odd that you would leave out college footballl Hall of Famer and Pro Football Hall of Famer Jimbo Covert, and Pro Football Hall of Famers Rickey Jackson and Darrelle Revis.

And how can anyone forget the All-American with an epic football name - Jack Sack.

No opposing fans really hate us, even in the cpj days. (Opposing coaches, yes). One, our fan base is pretty mellow and really not too trashy. Two, we were never consistent champs that drew hate. Lastly, we were seen as a “smart” school who did more with less. The 3o and academics made us academy-like.. and everyone loves academies. Admit it, there’s a comparison to northwestern, vandy, wake and stanford…to be made. And no one hates those teams at all. Whether we like it or not, this is the perception of us. Maybe not exactly, but close.

I proudly nominate me. Should be no contest.

Now let's do stupidest mother ööööing Stingtalker. You win by a mile.
