It has been quite some time since I have posted, but am looking forward to getting back in the hang of things.

I have seen many threads and opinions on the '07 campaign and would like to add my 2 cents worth.

1. A W against UGAy is a must. We are way over due as we all know and anything less than a W is NOT acceptable. I just flat refuse to continue rolling over to those people. NO more close, NO more almost, NO more we shoulda.

2. IMO, in order for CCG to kepe his job a W over "them" is a must. One game does not make a season as we all know, but 6 in a row would NOT be acceptable.

3. If we go 3-2 in the CU, UM, VT, ND, and UVA games I believe we go 10-2 with the W over "them". We are 9-3 at worst due to the fact that we always seem to lose one we should not.

Just one persons opinion.

Great to be back and look forward to the sharing of ideas.

It's nice to see there are a least a few of us left who understand the importance of the Georgia game. I agree with you that we must win that game. Unfortunately, moral victories have become acceptable to many in that regard.

It is nice to see that there's still some people who understand the importance of the UGA game .. i would rather go 1-11 as long as that one win is against the mutts... WE HAVE TO BEAT UGA I'M SICK OF THEM... I WANT A BLOWOUT THIS YEAR AT BDS... WHIP THOSE DAWGS ASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I realize what you're saying is purely hyperbole (at least I hope it is) but....I wouldn't. That would be a program killing disaster the likes of Bill Lewis.

He has to be kidding...only a complete moron would rather go 1-11 with a win against UGA than 10-2 with a loss against UGA. Talk about fixation issues.

I too DESPERATELY want a win over UGA. I've had nightmares about that game this offseason.

That said, I think it's imperative for us to AT LEAST MATCH last year's success. The biggest games for ME this season are...

1/UGA

2/Clemson

3/Notre Dame

4/UVA (because we haven't won there since Truman was in office)

5/Va. Tech or Miami...take your pick

We've started the momentum last season. THIS season with an improved ACC we have to show the college football world that last year was NOT just a fluke due to the "weak ACC".

Kick some tail Jackets!!!!!!!!!!!

Count me in on a win over ugag, if we lose again we are digging a recruiting and reputation it will take years to overcome. If CCG cannot win the ugag game this year, he needs to be HISTORY.

I like Chan. I think he has the program moving in the right direction. But at some point you have to beat your rival. That time is now.

If we're 11-2 with a loss to Georgia, Chan won't be gone. Nobody in their right mind would want to coach a team in which 11-2 (or even 8-5) got a coach fired. I hate UGA as much as anyone, but we have to be realistic.

This 1-11 stuff is nonsense. It would never happen.

I'm not sure why we even play UGAg anymore. The importance of the game has been downplayed every year since Chan got here.

When I read threads like this, I get concerned. I want to beat UG as much as the next Jacket (I've had 2 dreams about that game the past month or so...one in which we won, the other we lost), but would we really want to get rid of our coach if he leads us to a 10-2 record but loses to them?

In my opinion, it's more important to look at the overall direction of the program. Recruiting has improved, our record has improved, and we're getting better each year.

Its already at 6 in a row...

A 10-2 regular season with a loss to the mutts would most likely turn into a 10-4 season.

Still, I would agree that we are in no position to be firing a football coach who wins 10 games unless he committed a crime.

I'd like to see us win at the end of the year and I'd like to see us retake our bowl record glory.

Isn't losing to the Dawg's at least a misdemeanor?

The only way in which a loss to UGA is acceptable(and even then it would just be back to neutral considering our current loss streak...) would be if we went to a BCS bowl, in my opinion. I would take a season with a UGA victory over any non-BCS season. To me there is no bigger game except the national championship, because people remember two things about a football season: who won the national championship, and the game against their main rival.

You said what I'm thinking. I can't imagine firing a coach who is 10-2; but if one those loses is UGA it sure puts a damper on things.

If you want to increase season ticket sales, at some point you have to beat UGA. I like Chan and I'm glad he is still our coach; but at the same time I don't know if I can stand walking out of BDS on 11/24 listening to trash talk from people in red.
