My opinion on 07 football.....

BEAT UGly!!

Edited to say: I live in Florida with a lot of UF friends. They have beaten UGly 15 of the last 17 and they love each victory just like it was the first. And you think we hate UGly?

Esso,

Where ya live down here in the Sunshine State?

I will say I agree with you on above point. It is fun to watch the Gators beat the Ugay bitches. It is even better to watch the nad lickers hide the week after. You can nto find a damn pup after they become Gator Bait!!!! (Wife is a HUGE Gator fan by the way).
Bad part is after they have beaten us to end the year I have to hear all those a**holes talk smack for the next forever!!!

I just simply say, "Damn, you did beat us but could you please remind me of the Gator streak you are on?" Shuts em up every time.:laugher: :laugher:

Thing about is this, if and when we do beat the nad lickers, I will not say one word. My smile will say it all.

I live in the Melbourne area. Where is Chiefland?

Also, while we are chatting...I know that John Davis is the world famous refrigerator mover from Ellijay. I loved the way he handled Refrigerator Perry. So how did you come by the handle Moverof Fridge2?

Chiefland is about 40 minutes west of Gainesville on the coast. very close to Cedar Key if that helps any.

JD and I are brothers.(unfortunately!):laugher: :laugher:

It was a pleasure to sit in the stadium that day and watch him whip Perry that day.

AHAAAAAAAA !!!!!!!!!!!
First of all we beat UGly!!!!!!!
Then we beat UGly again!!!!!!
Then we beat them again!!!!!
and then again, and then again, and then again. I think you see my point by now. We'll let the ACC worry about the ACC since we'll whip everybody in the ACC, but first we gotta get back to kick'n UGly.

We'll follow that world renoun philospher of football, RM-2 on the first play of the game with UGly. Maybe the second play too, we'll just have to see what shakes out first.

I don't want to just beat UGly, I want to humiliate them. I want to see every UGly player and their dog racing for the field house just to escape GT. I want to see every car tag w/that red & black Green Bay Packer "G" on it thrown away. (Sorry for insulting Green Bay, but UGly did it) I want to get back to the day that I don't have to have to hear that nose whinny "how bout them dawgs" crap.

I do love dogs as pets, but that thing UGly has ain't even a dog. Dogs are NOT that ugly. I'd love to see our Ramblin Wreck out there gunning for and chasing that UGly so called dog off the field. Their so called dog is now BEE BAIT.

I vote that it is far more important to Beat UGA. UGA would remind us of winning 7 in a row well into the afterlife; but we'll be hard pressed to remember if we won the ACC 20 years from now. I would much rather we go .500 in ACC and beat UGA than to win the ACC and let UGA continue a winning streak. Let's hope this year's freshman class never has to experience loosing to UGA. :fingersx: Two of my kids have never experienced GT actually winning the game!!
:crybaby:

I know most of our fans are consumed with trying to catch UGag in athletics, something that seems a terribly difficult objective considering our overall record in recent years, but given that it is nearing a mandate that CCG beat CMR this year, in what way have you seen that we have now caught them to the point that a win should be expected? Do we have better coaching? How about better recruiting over the past 3-4 years? How about facilities and fan support?
Aside from some close scores in games where a much highly ranked team came in and waffled though the game to earn a win, upon what do you base our program that we should now demand a win vs Ugag with the consequence being termination for our coach if we don't see immediate success?

20 years from now you'll remember if we beat UGA once but you won't remember an ACC championship? If our sole motivation is to silence the UGA fans, then we might as well shut ourselves in our bedrooms. The type of fan that cheers for UGA would find some other meaningless stat to brag about. "Yeah, you won, but we had the #1 running back in the nation!" There's no arguing with children. Such is the way with UGA fans.

We should expect a win because it's his freakin job to get it done. This crap needs to end now.

We should beat ugag next year. We should have beaten them the last 2 for sure. I think overall that Chan has done a fine job building his program and my feeling is that we have a more solid foundation now than we've had since Dodd was at Tech. BUT, we have to start seeing that in the results on the field.

Last year we had an opportunity to make it a special season. But we failed the finals and dropped 3 games to end the year, two of which were completely on us. Losing to WVU happens, they're a very good team. But ugag and Wake were just failures on our part.

No, I might not remember we beat UGA once (unless we go on another freaking loosing streak for 20 years). However, I will remember 20 years from now 6 in a row, 7 in a row, 8 in a row...however long the streak is allowed to continue. Each year we loose to UGA the imperative to win a game becomes ever more important. Is the ACC really all that impressive if the Champ hasn't beat its in state rival in anyone's recent memory? That makes the ACC sound like the MAC or Sunbelt conference.

Let me put it to you this way. I remember 35-18 in Athens like it happened last week. I still have a newspaper clipping of RM waving a hedge clipping over his head stuffed somewhere. I remember UGA fans vacating the stadium late in the third quarter; but I don't remember who we played in the ACC that year, or who won the ACC championship (it may have been us?).

Didn't the higher ranked team come in a waffle to a loss last year?

If we have a good year next year; but loose to UGA, I don't think you automatically fire Gailey; but he certainly doesn't get off the hot seat. If he wins the ACC he will not be fired regardless of the UGA outcome. GT could not survive firing a coach headed to a BCS game and expect to hire a 'proven coach' without putting up more $$ than we've got. However, if Gailey goes .500 in the ACC with a UGA loss, if DRad wants to bring in Jimbo Fisher or someone else, that would be his opportunity, and I don't think anyone would protest too loudly.

I like Chan, and I like our potential this year and the program he's built; but if you haven't noticed the disdain for him among Tech fans you aren't playing attention. Chan needs to show he is capable of beating UGA on a somewhat regular basis before he can get himself off the hotseat.

totall agree, with one minor exception: "We should have beaten them the last 2 for sure."

Yes last year, no question we should have beaten them, but the previous year (and the year before as well) we could have beaten 'em, but not necessarily should have.

Who cares if we should have or could have beaten them? We didn't. End of story.

I too DESPERATELY want a win over UGA. I've had nightmares about that game this offseason.

That said, I think it's imperative for us to AT LEAST MATCH last year's success. The biggest games for ME this season are...

1/UGA

2/Clemson

3/Notre Dame

4/UVA (because we haven't won there since Truman was in office)

5/Va. Tech or Miami...take your pick

We've started the momentum last season. THIS season with an improved ACC we have to show the college football world that last year was NOT just a fluke due to the "weak ACC".

Kick some tail Jackets!!!!!!!!!!!
Didnt we lose all momentum with 3 losses in a row at end of season with 2 of them the worst displays of football and coaching ever? Id say this is a fresh new start and a win over ND starts the momentum

A one win season is a success if that win is over UGA.

Amen, and amen. The ancient 8-year drought is the thing that the UGlys still hate most and that I love best. The 35-18 thumping was one of the most satisfying wins I can recall, especially because of the scowls on the UGly student's (sic) faces as I walked back to my car. I loved the game we won 6-0 when UGly just couldn't get it to the end zone and the high-scoring OT game we won on the field goal.

Yeah, it is the memory of wins against UGly that I recall with fondest appreciation. The bowl trophies and championship acclaims have been icing...the cake was beating UGly.

There is only one reason for the existence of Ga Tech Football and that is to spank the evil bastiches from Athens in the Red & Black, the colors of Satan himself.

Period.
