My opinion on 07 football.....

Gailey was our coach for only the last 5 of them.

Thank you for the correction. I knew it was six and that is ALL that matters.

Let me make a statement to clear up a few things I have read in response to my post.

1. A win over UGAy is a MUST. I do not back down from that statement.

2. NO, I do not want to go 1-11 or 2-10 and beat UgAy, BUT either the 1 or 2 better be against the damn dawgs.

3. Look at our past 3 seasons. We have gone in the tank each of them,IMO, after we got our asses handed to us by them.

4. The UGAy game is without a doubt the biggest game on our schedule>>>>>> A MNC would only come after beating them.

5. That game IMO is the BIGGEST game we play all year.

6. PISS on the pups!!!

Worst case scenario may be GT winning the ACC Championship after loosing to a UGA team that doesn't even go to it's conference championship. All we would hear all year is "Yeah, if we were in the ACC we'd be champs every year."

Apparently you, me, and the whole GTAA is fixated on that game. IF it is not THE BIGGEST game we play all year, someone please explain to me why I have buy either a whole season ticket, or a 3 game flex pack, to get a ticket to the game. And if someone does not think it is the biggest game of the year, let me state right now that I'll trade you my VT tickets straight up for your UGA tickets (oh I forgot, the UGA ticket cost more so I'll kick in the face value cash difference). I might even toss in my Samford tickets just for doing business.

For the past three years we have invented ways to get beat by the leg humpers. We all know R*ggi* B*ll is a moron but folks coaching played a big role too.

Someone said earlier a program would never fire a coach for going 10-2 much less 8-5, ahh check your history. The mutts fired Donnan for going 8-5 but mainly because he lost 3 in a row to us (with the third win coming in Athens).

Does everyone realize since 1990 our largest margin of victory over ugag has been only 13 points (2000, 27-15). While they have whipped us by 44 points, 38 points (1994), 33 points (1993).

We badly need to whip their tails this year, not win by a fg or add to the misery by making it 7 in a row, but blow them out!!!!!!!!!!

I would like to see the day we can make it through without seeing comments like this.

Well, when you have morons like Cr*zy4t*ch posting, what do you expect? :fingersx:

Won't happen until we beat UGA. Like it or not, his losses to UGA are the watermark of his Tech career(they chanted his name in Samford louder than we ever did at BDS). Once we start beating them again we can start to forgive and forget...but until then people will always be looking to vent their frustrations, and Reggie is that scapegoat, especially with the way he ended last year.

Frankly, there is no reason to be bringing that former quarterback up. He's gone. That chapter is closed.

The man who is ultimately responsible for those five straight losses, however, is still very much at Tech. Next year the Mutts might be chanting: "Gailey! Gailey! Gailey!"

I know that sounds good to you, but Donnan was fired because of lack of control of the program. Quincy's continuing problems are an example.

Couple of things. First, the individual you refer to is long gone, so there is not a need to bash SA's. I as much as anyone was tough on him and other players, but was quickly corrected by a member of this board about the SA's and the role they play. We should not bash any of them at any time.

The pups fired Donan because he could not win a game of importance, Tech was only one of those, not the total reason.

A win over UGAy is a win. I do not give a damn if it is by 1 or 100.

My main reason for t his post was to point out that our head coach must beat UGAy this year!!! NO EXCUSES!!!!!!!!

Hey RM-2,
I wanna hear you tell the new ones here about how we need to do the first play of the game against ND. Last year you nailed it. Can U do it again?

BTW, why not carry it over that bunch over yonder too.

Picture this...November 24, 2007. Georgia Tech is undefeated and has pummeled such notables as Miami and Virginia Tech. Having throttled UGly for three quarters, but leading by only 7 points late in the fourth quarter due to five very bad calls and six unfortunate bounces of the ball, Georgia Tech plays the game safely and after punting late in the game UGly returns the punt for a touchdown and on a trick play scores two for the go-ahead extra point. Georgia Tech moves the ball down field and from the four yard line on third down with fifteen seconds remaining kicks a field goal that is wide of the goal post by six inches.

Questions:
1. What happens to CG?
2. How many Tech fans go to the playoff and bowl games?
3. How many Tech fans cut their wrists, how many hang themselves and how many put a bullet through their head?

Now that is a personal attack. It's just a message board, buddy. No need to pitch a hissy fit.

Probably the same thing that happened to Scott Norwood.

Vincent Gallo's gonna get out of prison, kidnap Christina Ricci and devise a plot to kill him?

:eek5:

Sure it is. That's the whole point...a little levity. Lighten up, Francis. Smell the roses occasionally. It might even make you feel a little better. :laugher:

Why is it important for ccg to beat ugag when our other coaches come right out and say it does not matter? Why should he have to do it? cdh and CPH don't care, why should ccg?

It would put us on more of a national stage to beat teams from other states, like Samford, Duke, Army. Maybe Wes can get us on Elon's schedule.
