Well, I am going to go ahead and get this one out there folks.

First of all, GT wins it. Why? Well, for those of you who watched the Miami game two weeks ago, or there about, any time FSU actually got pressure to the Jacory Harris he looked flustered and seemed to make poorer decisions. Jacory Harris also had a really hard time against the GT secondary last year, and it's a secondary that has matured another year with him. GT seems to have a pretty decent pass rush. They need to contain Harris though, otherwise he may go T-Mobile on us.

Secondly, their defense is largly still very suspect. Looked like there was a lot of heros on that team and FSU had some success especially up the middle on them and that's where GT punched them last year. I didn't see a large improvement.

Third, GT's offense will be out ofr it. I know that they are looking for something better than last week and from what I am hearing from players they are getting the killer instinct idea. Anthony Allen quotes, "we have to keep punching them in the mouth" after the Clemson game. I also believe Paul Johnson when he said that Nesbitt will learn from the Clemson game and also judging by the fact that him and Bay-Bay will be practicing throwing after every practice shows that Nesbitt wants this. I believe him. He led us to the win against Clemson. That was all heart folks.

Last, coaching. Paul Johnson has stymied Randy Shannon last year. Randy's Miami was coming to ATL with a 5 game win streak and they were high. GT brought them back down, and guess what folks, MIA is high again. They are still young, while GT is too, the coaching is the difference in the attitude of the players. Paul Johnson used the chicken bowl loss as motivation and GT knows what it's like to be complacent and how it feels to be truly humbled. That and Furman Bisher says GT is among the greatest, he has a point.

I don't like to put out points guys, but if the line in Vegas is at -4 for Miami, I say take GT and the points spread the other way to 7.

I am not high on us for this game. Miami looks better then they did last year, our defensive line isn't three bulldozers and a tornado this year, our offense isn't running like we were last season yet, and I know that Miami has this game circled because we pants-ed them last year.

I still think we win, because I don't believe that Paul Johnson loses to Randy Shannon, but I am worried as hell.

This is the first game since last year's FSU game that I am totally indifferent on. I don't know who will win. I suspect we will, but I also think that is the homer inside of me.

It's too early in the season to make an informed prediction of who will win.

Against FSU Harris looked like the kind of qb that tends to light us up (Matt Ryan). Something tells me he won't repeat that performance this week. I don't think Miami's defense could have improved enough, though, from last year to shut down our offense this year. I think it will be closer than last year, and I think Miami will score on us, but I like the Jackets in another thriller. Sometimes you just match up well against a team, and this seems to be the case with Miami, unless we lack the motivation and lay an egg down there.

I think it will come down to the success of our passing game. Another 3 for umpteen and we are done.

Nesbitt's completions per pass and third down conversions per attempt were both 3 for 14.:ugh: Would be hard to win another game all year without improving these areas.

Oh yes, there definitely were some drops, the drop by Roddy comes to mind that would have been some big yardage for us I believe.

I think Roddy's cast caused some problems in the passing for him.

Anyone know when his cast comes off completely, we need him in the mid-range for those passes.

Just thought about that Roddy drop. There was a ton of green in front of him on that play. That could have changed the game. Even though the scoreboard doesn't show it, I think we were a few plays (better reads, catching passes instead of dropping) away from closing that game out in the beginning of the 3rd quarter.

Gosh, Roddy wasn't even much of a factor in that game. We know how much of a factor Roddy Jones is when he is on all cylinders. Can't wait to see him tearing it up.

Yep, Dwyer almost broke a big one in the third quarter up the middle too. He just missed it. Another half-second on a block from the guard and JD would struck up the band. That pass to Roddy would have been end-zone or red-zone for sure though.

We were very close on some plays in the third, they just didn't materialize. Also, on one drive, Josh had the first down if he would have just kept on running, but for what ever reason he was committed to passing that ball and he did and the guy was covered. Josh should have just gotten the first down.

The third quarter was just a bunch of miscues.

Perhaps Roddy and Wright and Cox will be key parts of the gameplan @ Miami. Cox especially had a great game last year against the Canes. Of course, that was before the U was back.

Clemson basically nullified both Roddy and JD. I don't expect that 2 times in a row. GT gets a big showing from both guys in Miami. I hope.

i just played it on ncaa 10 on heisman and won by 16. hope that means something hahah

I think CPJ is going to run the midline down their throats.

The U did look good, but how much of that fire and execution was because they were playing their hated rival?? Many teams give that extra effort in that situation. Sure they have had more time to prepare for us.. but with the array of plays we have - we should keep them confused enough on D to get the win. May come down to a FG and S Blair has gotton a ton more confidence after last week.

I think they are looking forward to our game just as much if not more than FSU after last year, which really worries me, not only because it will help them off-field, but because they've probably poured their hearts into preparing for us too.

Excellent point. Look at FSU. Ponder looked pretty darn good against MIA for a while. Then they went to JSU where they completely sucked.

Rivals games are about like cream puff games, it's just hard to tell.

Bingo. Hopefully Miami will be a little burned out which will amount to a "W" for us when combined with our team's renewed sense urgency to not let up.
