In my head, that was obvious given his title, but you’re right. I should have added “DEFENSIVE” run game coordinator.

How is Collins acting as DC instead of Thacker a downside?
 
So Thacker was LB’s and run game DC and called plays in game last year

Now he loses LB’s as a position group, we have a new run game DC…. Tillman is the pass game DC

What exactly is his role here now???

I’ve got a feeling he’s still got roughly the same responsibilities, just hidden by all these new hires.
 
I just noticed in his TAMU bio that he was also "Running game coordinator" there as well so I guess this is an actual thing. I like the guy - he's been around the block a few times.

Someone asked earlier - what is left for Thacker to do. Perhaps carry the headphone wire - oh, wait - that's not a thing anymore. Maybe scowl for the camera after we make a big play. He was pretty good at that as I recall.

We’ll be much better off if those 2 leave all of the coaching to the hopefully competent recent hires. They should do the rah rah stuff and nothing else.

It's a shame that this staff looks like it'll be together for only one year because it appears to be LIGHT years better than the staff that started 2021 other than losing Choice.

And that’s your defense for being called out? How much öööö are you gonna be talking after Collins wins a max of 3 games again and gets fired? Are you gonna leave and cheer for whoever he goes to?
