New Asst HC(Def) - David Turner

players that were already there
Tech's DFEI in 2018 was 102nd and subsequent years have followed suit. I wonder how many of the "players that were already there" saw the field all four years or the majority of them.

I think your heel turn from "muh coaching" to "muh players" is hilarious because it's something you should never have admitted. It runs antithesis to your core argument to fire Collins.

I mean it helps when you’re carried by guys like Fletcher Cox.
Also, you proved my point. If Tech’s team has been around 100 all 3 years, what does that mean????

He's had two recruiting classes of his own so I'd say it means R-Freshmen aren't ready to see the field over Juniors+

But if our players were so bad why are they still playing…
Because they're still better than R-Freshmen? Or were thought to be even if they weren't? After all, for what feels like three years now all we've heard hyped is how much "experience" is returning in the backfield and look how it turned out. Maybe coaches were fired for making poor decisions like that.

Who was hyped about anything after the second year?

When the clock struck midnight and the carriage turned back into the pumpkin it always was, no one. But the returning defensive backfield experience was one of the few talking points on a team devoid of anything else worth mentioning until Sims and Gibbs.

And then we saw the decline from freshman year

Uh, yeah. When you take a bad baseline and then add poor coordinating from Thacker it's not gonna be better. Was that supposed to be a gotcha?
Who’s the HEAD coach? You don’t think after seeing 3 years of regression he would have at least the slightest ounce of knowledge to think, “hm, maybe something isn’t working.”

I'm gonna be honest, his thought probably was more along the lines of, "There's not much to work with here so just keep the cheap staff for as long as I can"

JT and Synjyn ran the train on that Collins/Turner defense in the Orange Bowl. He has plenty of “run game” experience.

j/k…..kind of. That said he has a very respectable resume and I trust is a strong addition to our staff.

Just read this thread and had to take CNJ off ignore temporarily.

Wow. That dude just got his ass best six ways to Sunday. He’s gonna need some cream to rub on his sphincter.

I could see that, he’s gotta save money for the constant stream of shoes he brings in
